Project Schemer: Higeki's chapter: Requiem

Arc 1 - Chapter 3: Weight.

"This time, there is no need for evacuation. As for everyone know, the city leaders already made their move. With their plan to demolish the slum and build concentration camp to control people in the way they wanted."

"According to our sources, other regions and other gangs also against this, their method is extreme. So what is your method ?"

"I can't say my method is extreme or not but i will do everything to keep everyone safe even if i have to be ruthless..."

"Korvos, it is the gang from sector 15."

"Just like i was expected. They wanted our territory."

"Maybe they can act as experiment subject. I do not wish for their harm but their action give me no other choice but to send out these punishments."

Before everyone head out, i give them what they need and proceed with the plan, with the aid from that mysterious organization, the plan is set in motion. I knew those from sector 15 would come, this is predicted ahead because of their behaviour they are slowly becoming a pawn to the leader of the city. Even with the desire, i want to unite as much gangs in the slum as possible but this gang from sector 15 will serve more harm than good. I want them gone as fast as possible, hard to change their way and that gang will be an obstacle, a lot of other sectors also fell for their lies. They act with words and violence but that is normal for the slum but i am not really sure what is the use of turf war when the world is close to its end. To divide ourselves and weakening our force but maybe the reason is understandable, that gang made a deal with the city leaders for a better life. But they didn't know the city leaders don't haggle.

"You can start now. There is no need for a notification, i already gave everyone the antidote."

Wind howls and snow falls, the snow with the purple color slowly fall on the slum, the purple shade of the slowly evaporate and the streets is covered in a purple smoke. With the masks and the eyeglasses this can be proven to be useless but the purple smoke have a special surprise for its properties. Making poison is far too easy for a doctor but making a surprise is much harder, the purple smoke may look harmless but with a perfect condition an unpleasant surprise will appear and become fear to every creature. A special type of fungus that become the nightmare to the city, i made my move, your turn.

"You really went a little bit extreme this time."

"I don't mind that, i don't swear or make any oath, think however you like, i will do everything i can to protect them and protect myself."

"The street is messy."

"There will be people there to clean it. Let take the children to bed first, we will discuss everything after everyone is here. My plan and my punishment for my own sin."

"So how do you feel, the first time you hurt someone."

"Guilt, regret, a little bit fear, mix with it is the color of a little bit hesitate but covered with determination. If the guilt is far too great in my heart then i will just perform some treatment for myself."

"And that is the blessing only you can have, no one in this world have that privilege, the privilege to forget everything..."

"Not forget everything, every sins will linger until the day we departed this world. There is no privilege allow someone to forget their sins, the sin on your back is the thing that you have to carry until the end of your existance."

The sins on our back, the everlasting weight that can't be forgotten, the treatment creates and illusion of the weight and that is everything it can do. So start this journey, i called myself a hypocrite for i am no different from those people out there, the kindness of a doctor, in this world, kindness is limited. I will not let go any acts of treason, those who serve the city leaders as a puppet will remain as a puppet in my eyes, and remain as a threat to this family. The street is filled with fungus and soon the fungus will become a way to treat the soil and finally plant and tree will be reborn. And when that moment come, i will atone for what i did, if no one stand up then no one can do anything to change what is happening.

"Your method was risky and extreme."

"I know everyone will listen to every words i said. That medicine you used, the clothing that you wear, the masks and everything, that is my creations, my warriors, my maskmans, my scouts, all will be covered in the purple mist as a way to mock those city leaders."

"The noble always choose purple as their representation, so doctor is this an official declare for war against the leader of the city ?"

"Not exactly, we need more allies first, during that mist most of them are departed from this world. You can say, they can't deliver enough of report to the leader of the city."

"What about their scout and the children they adducted ?"

"Thank you for your help."

"You know you can just ask normally."

"Dumb kid, that will just reveal all the information."

From the entrance is the mercenary and next to him is an old gentleman, he carries a suitcase and in the other hand is a walking cane. Despite of his appearance, no one know he is a dangerous man, he can gather any information from any sources and always have his way of making people speak what he wants. The elder gentleman also brought a lot of news about the children and the gang, the children is raised by the organization and they will do everything they can to make sure the children can live a better life. 

"I must apologize for this child behaviour, he isn't a bad person, just really loud and a little bit careless."

"I am not that loud."

"How about that time you almost blown our cover over you temper. Now let me handle the rest of the discussion, you can go and play with the children."

"Fine, i will go play with the children."

"Now, our leader have a message for you, he is delighted and for the first time he knows someone can keep up with his calculation speed."

"His calculation ?"

"I simply can't reveal that, you must speak to him personally."

"Hey Higeki, can i play with this stuffed animal ?"

"My apology, you can play with any other thing but he is an exception. He is very important to me."

After deliver the message, the old gentleman and the mercenary leave and we continue our discussion, the plan for the next step. Targeting the traitor among us is the first priority, there are 23 sectors so a lot of place to check and our plan is finding allies then a little bit of checking can do no harm. The plan required a lot of work and it feel like a storm is coming but who is the storm is an important question, can we win a war without casualty ? The greatest fear is the emotion for those who remain, how do they feel when we were gone, i am afraid of those feeling, the moment i see those who care for me fall on their knees, that is the most frightful moment. I can't bear that pain and i know that will be my greatest weakness... i need a treatment. Close my eye and think about nothing else, they say meditation is the best way to relieve your mind, do not think about anything else, breathe in and out slowly.

"Life... is... tiring.... return to me...relieve... your... mind."

"Who are you ?"

"The one... that... share... an... oath. Remember...me.... relieve your mind...."

The dream is the place where people can truly relieve, in my dream i saw everything with my own eyes, a beautiful green meadow and countless white flowers grow on it. The sky is blue and someone is waiting for me under the shade of a large tree, upon approaching the mysterious person i heard a song, the flowers bloom and glow. But the closer i reach the further they become until all i can do is watch as the light of the flowers slowly engulf everything. Lilies, an extinct flower only exist in the tale from the old library, the weight is lifted as i let the light engulf everything even my existance. The white lilies, the pure white light, can you be here when i atone my sins ?

"Thank you for be here doctor. I am apologize for my condition i would like our conversation only between us."

"There is no issue with that, the city is dangerous, being cautious is never enough. So what is the reason for this conversation between us ?"

"Straight to the point but don't worry doctor i mean no harm but first, i think i should be honest, there is someone who is watching us and i don't like that. So pardon me, Omicron, you can take that person out right ?"

"You say i can keep up with your calculation, what is your mean by that ?"

"I have a certain talent, my master said i am much brighter than most of my friends and everyone, i can calculate the possibility of some events."

"So keep up with calculation here is the fact that you and i both know about the informer and the children ?"

"Called that an example, i can also calculate a lot of other possibility but what important here is our next step."

"So do you mean our path can cross ?"

"Maybe but that is another possibility but first, you need to relieve yourself because of that sin you have on your back."

Relieve my mind and i still have to discuss more with everyone so our conversation ended. The city will not act and they will wait since they saw a threat and those coward won't act, they only want to retaliate so we will play this game with them, we will also wait. Anyone who act first is the one who lose and we also need more allies so there is no harm in waiting, those in sector 2 is full of potential to become our allies.
