"That should wrap up everything in sector 2."
"Thank you Korvos, you did all the hard work so i can play with the children."
"Without you, we can't stop the children, no one know the harm if the children act and the city will retaliate this. Also the explosion, is that their work ?"
"You can say that, having them on our side and that should serve as a distraction and additional sabotage toward the city."
The plan is flawless but this is just the plan used to stop the progression of the concentration camp but the city will do everything to expand and it will swallow everything if that is neeeded. The mysterious organization is a way to slow them down but an impact is what we need to end all of this but what come after that, how will this world recover. But for now, we have to protect ourselves and that is the only priority we should focus, but this trip and this alliance, this changed something in my mind. I felt humiliated by the action of those tax collector come to our place every month, watching them look at us like cattle, i want them to feel that gaze, to return to gaze to them.
"Higeki."
"Korvos, what is wrong ?"
"It is sector 2, they are having an emergency."
"Here, carry this bag for me, we need to reach sector 2 now. Daniel, if you see anyone approach, take everyone to the ruin."
"Ok Doctor."
"Good kid."
Sector 2 is in flame, the member of the mysterious organization is defending the innocent along with the adults, the children and the elders are hiding and the leaders of sector 2 is commanding everyone. They knew this day will arrive and they have been preparing for it, the attack from the city but this is not their main force, this is another organization act in the name of the city leader - Hiiv organization. They are not as powerful as Haar but they are famous to be ruthless and nimble, but that is not an opponent to the mysterious organization. This time the mysterious oracle appear, use his cape, he draws out a lot of different firearms and along with him is an army of machine. The oracle firearms along with his talent allow him to take down a lot of Hiiv members but what surprise us is something else.
"Doctor, that is my son."
"What but you told us his corpse is found in the rubble of the old orphanage."
"The star whisper, it is your end. There is no escape."
It seem like the kid battling with the oracle is the child that left this world long ago, so this is the work of the leader of the city. They take the poor boy before his father can give him a proper burial, they made his soul linger in this realm and force it to follow their comman. With all of that hatred of course the boy target will be his father, the man who started all of this, the man who was so blinded that he ignore his son. And with all of that torment and all of that neglection filled that poor child with nothing but ruthless toward the man who he once called father. The moment i arrived to sector 2 i only focus on hepling the adult while Korvos helps the adults and protects the children. An alarm also told us that the defense system of our sector is activated and the fungus is already spreading along with two other members of the mysterious organization helping our gang escape to the ruin.
"You need to hide until the oracle subdue your son and then we can focus our attention on him. I have to take care of every people here first. If that is really your son then you should hide and that is your only choice."
"The star whisper this is the end of the deer, retreat when you still can or i can't longer control myself... so you choose this ending."
The oracle lose control of his action, drawing out endless firearms and start rampaging the street and everything we can do is hide until everything settled. The sound of the gunshot while everything i can do is focus on helping everyone, their wound isn't severe but it could lead to infection due to the enviroment. The dust settled and only the Oracle with some machine and the child remain, the power of the mysterious organization is beyond our comprehension. So this mean we have to try even harder to against the leader of the city. In the final stike that decide everything, when the kid's blade and the oracle spear almost reach each other, a man dash out from the rubble and stand in the middle. The oracle is stopped in time but the kid sink his knife into the man's chest.
"You can stop now, right ?"
"...."
"I am here, i won't abandon you, not again. I am terrible man and a bad father... but... at last... i can see... you... one... last... time..."
A scream and then the kid ran away, without any member from Hiiv to supervise him. His direction is unknown but with maybe he will end up in somewhere better for him, maybe a member of the mysterious organization will found him. But that will be the best for him. The sun rise and the snowstorm ended, the air is polutted but the snow remain white an pure. Lying on the ground is a man and his children surrounding him, we decided to give him a proper funeral and sector two is no longer safe. After his burial and mourn everything, every moment to us is slower, what the city done and what they can do, this is a message from them, no one is safe.
"Higeki, take a sip."
"Thank you Korvos."
"You still think about that man ?"
"He didn't deserve this fate, his child didn't deserve this fate, everything could change. Why i can't do anything to help him and why i can only stand still and watch everything."
"We can't do anything, the burden you bear is already far too heavy, how about this time, you should blame the city."
"No apart of this is my fault, maybe that one time i accept his request and the city leaders may use that as a trace. But i feel better now."
The war and everything are confuse and scary, imagine our life slowly drained away by the city but even we fight back or not. So why not fight back there is nothing left to lose anyway. The sector 2 is no longer a safe place so the people of sector 2 and our gang discussed and we decided for everyone to move to sector 15 and there should be enough living space since a lot of person passed away in the factory. Sector 15 is abandoned and considered no longer exist since last year, no one especially the people of the city travel to sector 15.
"Higeki, my invention is completed, the air and the atmosphere of sector 15 is perfect to live without a mask. Vegetation is restored the only downside to this is the fact that we need to live as vegan to avoid the eye of the city."
"So your organization use this place as a base ?"
"The sector 15 is empty so you can it is a part of the outskirt now, why not use it in our disposal ? It took ten years and the hardwork of everyone in our organization but we managed to brought the atmosphere in sector 15 to the moment before the war begin."
For the first moment we can breath normal without the help of mask and for the first time we can eat something fresh and not something that synthetic. The city used all of resources in this world and they left nothing so grow something can be really nice but where did they get the seed in the first place. But that is too much question, maybe they found the seed somewhere and preserve it, what make sector 15 different from other sector is the scenery. A lot of small houses instead of countless tall buildings with lifeless color, there is a square in the middle of the sector with a fountain and the road is restored like those in the ruin.
"Hey... wait... up..."
"Are you alright Higeki ?"
"I am fine but this scenery.... It is familiar."
"You should rest, maybe a shock in changing of scenery."
There is something i must remember, the voice calling me, what is the meaning of this, the voice calling but not just one voice, there are two voices. A voice remind me to wake up and the other voice want me to find something, to explore the ruin and found the truth. But wake up from what and what to find ? But i know one voice, the voice pleading and ask me to wake up, it come from someone, someone so close to me that i forgot, i need to find the truth and i feel like something, some other threat approaching far greater than the city leaders. Maybe spying Alpha is a great choice but he can calculate everything so he know i am trying to find the truth but if he is an ally then why he hide the truth ? Maybe there is something far more dangerous lurking in the dark.
"Wake... up... Higeki... don't... forget... our... oath...."
It is decided, i must reach that ruin and reach the deepest part of that place, maybe that will reveal the truth, the answer for the question always exist in my mind. Who am I ? What is the reason my existance and what is the reason for this world to appear in this state of ruin.
"Korvos, you can't hide him any longer."
"Keep your voice down."
"You know he is determinated and he will do that... it seem like our conversation have the third person."
"Higeki..."
"What are you hiding from me Korvos ? I suggest don't try to hide anything, i am really confuse right now."
