Brr! It's Freezing! (2)

I shout, “Hey! Big guy!” The giant turns around towards my direction. “I know many of us want a respite from this unbearably hot weather, but can you at least also consider the voices of those who would eventually object to your plans of replacing summer with winter this early?” “A-ha! Another complainant! Time for another human popsicle!” He blasts cold air out of his hands in response. I fortunately have the agility to dodge it. The cold air then touches a fire hydrant, freezing it outright. “You sure are one persistent little runt!” “And I must ensure the temperature in this town is just right. Not too hot, not too cold. You are simply going too far!” I bring out the five magical ladybugs, swallow them, feel the energy as I slowly flail my arms, and... “Gjallarhorn... Gjallar-form!” Trumpet plays, armor pieces form around my body. The usual transformation phase. “I sound the beginning of the end of evil! The Resounding Horn, Gjallarhorn!” The ice giant quips... “Bah! Enough introductions! I, the Winter Sasquatch, will ensure you'll go home and watch that snow queen movie instead of resisting me!” Come on, why must you make that lame reference to that already popular movie? Seriously, I'm getting sick of it being memed to hell and back! But there's a more pressing concern right now! Since there are people who are frozen solid around me, I must divert the Winter Sasquatch to an unpopulated place. I can't risk those people being shattered instantly due to the collateral damage this upcoming battle will bring. While he is chasing me, hoping for his meaty paws to connect to my head, I goad him towards an abandoned warehouse. Well, why must every town have at least one abandoned warehouse somewhere? This is a riddle for the ages. Anyway, I successfully bait the Winter Sasquatch into facing him in battle inside this warehouse. “Well, well, well. This open space is like a canvas to base my own little winter wonderland on! Now then, have some of this!” He conjures a long ice blade in his left hand, and a snowflake shuriken in his right. He doesn't hesitate to throw these icy projectiles at me, hoping for them to penetrate my chest. But I ain't having any of that. With enough alacrity, I parry the projectiles with my sufficiently-armored arms. “Hmm. You're tougher than I thought, Gjallarhorn. But are you prepared for THIS?” The glacial Bigfoot raises his arms; and from the roof and the floor, icicle spikes pop up. I nimbly dodge the ice stalactites and stalagmites before they actually appear, as I don't want to become frozen shish kebab in no time. I quip back, “Nice try.” “Why you!” Now he's using his thick hands and feet in order to physically knock me out. Good thing I take advantage of the icicles he generated as cover from his meaty limbs. He's really getting frustrated once I goad him into destroying his own means of attack. “Grrr! You're really tasting my patience! Now to truly snow you away!” He raises his hand once more; and I can feel really cold air seconds later. From where he stands, he's summoning a blizzard, which is then immediately followed up by a humongous avalanche. Ugh! How can I dodge this kind of attack with such a huge area of effect? Oh well... guess I'll just have to share the fate of the others who're frozen solid. But... Suddenly, I feel some kind of warmth inside my body. A warmth that shields me from the effects of frostbite. Wait a minute. If I connect the dots... Yeah, I used the element of fire to defeat the cat-eared necromancer. So that means... As my body is engulfed in more and more of the fire-elemental energy, it glows hot red and creates a brief force field that neutralizes the blizzard avalanche. “NOOO!!! Not my strongest attack!” Guess it's time for the finishing blow, then. I channel the fire-elemental energy through my hands, and then create a cross-shaped attack filled with blazing fury. “Crucis Chop: Rekka (Raging Fire)!” The fire cross easily makes short work of the Winter Sasquatch, not before it utters its pre-mortem one-liner: “This heat is bothering me, anyway! AAAAAHHHHH!!!” The cold snap ends as quickly just as it began. As I de-morph, I can see the weather neutralizing. The sunny weather is back, but not to the point that it is searing, as it is countered by the cold winds that are generated by the ice monster. While certain people are bummed out that the snow they enjoy easily vanished, others (i.e. those who complained about the cold weather) can feel their bodies fully free of their frozen status. Time to head back to work. “In today's top story... The town of Rain Marginal, Mississippi has experienced a brief midday of snowy weather, which was unusual considering the prevailing weather systems over the area. Some people rumored that it was the doing of an ice-themed monster, who was promptly defeated by the same armored superhero who defeated the cobra monster near Wenceslaus Vincent Memorial Medical Center a few weeks ago. We at KTRM News have yet to confirm this rumor as of this moment.” --- Monster of the Week Information Name: Winter Sasquatch Height: 230 cm (7' 6.6”) Weight: 190.51 kg (420 lb) Monster Type: Ice-elemental humanoid giant Even in a time where frequent rains are a blessing to the residents of Rain Marginal, the effects of global warming mean that the occasional sunny days that happen are, in more recent days, more than just sunny days; they are days of “hell on earth”. The residents' wish of having cooler weather was answered by this summoned Bigfoot that has control over wintry weather. However, the weather was a bit too much for some townsfolk to handle; and thus the Winter Sasquatch paid back by freezing people who complained outright. With its mastery over the element of ice, the Winter Sasquatch could summon sharp ice blades, icicle spikes from above and below, and snowflake shurikens. It could also call upon blizzards and avalanches to freeze enemies to death. Furthermore, as a variant of the Bigfoot, it could use its meaty fists and feet to deliver strong physical attacks. Gjallarhorn simply defeated it with the Crucis Chop, which he imbued with the power of fire, the giant's only weakness.
