THE WORLD FINALLY STEADIES, and I look over at David. He’s looking at me with what I have dubbed as my look. It’s a look of wonder, awe, and love.
“You okay?” I ask him.
“Yes.” He looks around with wonder in his eyes.
I nod, and I take his hand and start walking out of the rocks and down my road. A few minutes later, we reach my driveway, and he stops. He is staring up at the house.
I’m proud of my house and being able to buy it on my own. It’s got four bedrooms, a finished basement, and a big fenced-in backyard. In the driveway is Brian's car, a sharp contrast from the car styles he’s used it.
