"Okay everyone," I say to my last class before lunch. "Read chapters fourteen to seventeen and write a summary about what you have read. The kids pack their bags and leave. I pack my papers away in my bag to grade later at home. 

"Knock, knock," Leigha's sweet, soft feminine voice plays lightly from the door. I look up and instantly know what she found out has been weighing on her chest all day. "You needed to see me?"

"Yes. Come in. Shut the door and sit."

She does and I sit too.

"So?"

"I came to the realization that you didn't take the news very well. I am sorry for ever saying anything. I hope you can forgive me."

"How do you think I feel about this?"

"So where's this leave us?"

"I don't know. I mean we could secretly date, but nobody could know. At least until you graduate anyway. Not even our parents. You know Sarah can't keep a secret to save her life...or we could just be friends...or siblings. It's your call."

"I think we should at least give it a try right?"

"Yes."

"Okay. Then, we are official."

"No offence...but its kind of funny to think of you being 25, and being my teacher, all while being my stepbrother, my teacher and my guardian."

"Good point."

"How long have you loved me?"

"Since my fourteenth birthday party when you were the only one to celebrate with me."

The bell rings and she nods as she stands.

"I'll see you later."

"Do you think people will get suspicious?"

"No. I mean I am your guardian after all."

"Okay. I'll see you at the end of the day then."
