Bonus Chapter (Ulfy)

Admittedly, that could have gone way better, but I had panicked. My soulmate was in trouble and I couldn't have told you how I knew when I had raged out and shifted, taking off for my mate. The only thing I knew when I had shifted was that my mate was injured and the smell of her blood was extremely potent to me. It had taken quite literally everything in me to carry her to my territory without feeding on her. Then I had paced for a good hour as Doc fixed her up and ordered me to sleep. I had protested of course, but I knew she was right, so my Beta Hank stayed awake to guard her as I slept on the couch in the living room. Which is actually the current placement I was in, on the couch asleep. "Alpha sir!" my maid Hannah exclaims as she runs up and shakes me lightly. "What?" I growl annoyed at being awoken. "She is awake." Before I can even wake up fully, I am in my room hugging to my mate's stomach. She gasps and her arms fly up in shock. I hug to her softly and sniff in her scent of Lavender and Citrus with all the stress that had been in me leaving on the relieved sigh that leaves me involuntarily. "I told you so," Hank says rolling his eyes at my mate as she hugs me back and huffs annoyed at him. "Stuff it, Hank," she says annoyed. "You two know each other?" I say confused. "You aren't in any pain? You need food, I will..." "Slow down big guy," she says placing a hand on my chest and preventing me from leaving. "I am fine at the moment. Let me process all the new information I have just acquired from my partner in crime, okay?" "Wait, a partner in crime?" "Yes. Hank here was my best friend before he moved packs, good choice by the way," she says leaning to the left to talk to him. "They were Wendigos." "Bloody hell?!" Hank says as his Scottish accent matches her own. "I knew they were shady but..." "Yep, they killed Alpha Jordan and his pack, turned everyone else into Wendigos through a project based on my apocalypse essay for Creative Writing." "I told you your stories would cause trouble." "Yeah, yeah. Anyway, Alpha Jordan told me everything about Jax. He goes around gathering young females and breeding with them then killing them." "I cannot believe that prat!" "I know! But I mean I guess I suspected something deep down. He was a Charmer." "Aren't they extinct?" I say confused. "Ha," she scoffs as Hank rolls his eyes and huffs annoyed. "We wish," he huffs. "No. There is actually a whole pack, clan, whatever, anyway, there a bunch of them prats up in Alaska and Canada. Colder weather is better for them prevents their hearts from melting." "How do you two know so much about them?" They exchange looks and then she sighs sadly. "We have Wendigo blood in us. We've just learned to suppress it." "What do you mean? That isn't possible." "That is what the Council would say. It is very much possible. Both our parents mated with Wendigos and made it out alive. You really should have informed him of these things. It is awkward telling your mate that you could very wipe him out as well everyone in his pack." She glares at Hank and he just shrugs.
