A young man watched as a couple rushed to their vehicle from the Diner window, he was sipping his coffee reading his book when he heard the woman say her water broke. The woman was heavily pregnant and in much pain, from her scent and knowledge from his medical training her and her child did not have much time left. They would not make it....deep inside he knew he had to help. Yet, he did not understand why. These mortals were beneath him he should not be wasting his time dealing with them. In the end nothing good comes of it... just pain..... It was very important that he help them he felt it in the depths of his undead soul, in that split second his decision was made. Before he even realized it he had used his speed to get between the husband and the driver's car door, he seemed startled and then shook his head. " Excuse me sir, but if you could please move I need to get my wife to the hospital she's in labor." The young man shook his head not moving an inch, before he could open his mouth to explain why the husband tried to move around him to get to the car. The stranger blocked him making it impossible to get to the door without shoving him out of the way. " Your wife and child will not make it to the hospital and if they happen to only one of them will likely make it." This seemed to anger the husband and was about to start yelling at the stranger to get the hell out of his way when his wife screamed in pain from a contraction. He looked away from him and towards his wife in concern, " How would you know?" "I am a doctor and if you come with me I can help deliver the babe and ensure safety for both of them." The husband looked to be troubled, he wasn't sure what to do. He wanted both his wife and baby to be safe and sound and to be able to hold his baby girl in his arms. He looked around his wife to the stranger a couples times before finally making his decision. "Fine, where are we going?" The stranger nodded at him and gesture him to follow him. The husband ran to the passenger side and helped his wife out of the car stopping for a second because of a contraction. When it was finished they started moving towards the stranger who walked towards the woods behind the diner. The couple stop moving staring uncertain into the woods, there was a slight trail leading into it, showing that this path has been traveled frequently. "Wait, where are we going?" The husband was glaring at the back of the stranger who was still walking,  he didn't want to have his wife give birth on the dirty forest floor. The stranger stopped and turned his head back to speak to the husband. " We are going to my home, now if you want to walk faster so we can get there sooner, the sooner I can help your wife." He started walking down the path once again, the husband stared at him and breathing in a deep breath before blowing it back out and started following him with his wife. When they finally reached the strangers home it wasn't what the husband was expecting, he was thinking that the stranger was leading them towards a small cabin. No , no this was a mansion in the middle of the forest, there were gates blocking our way in.  The building itself looked gothic, the structure nothing like the ones in Hollywood. Instead of walls made of windows they were made of black bricks. Windows on every floor, statues of gargoyles on the roof. A chimney on the right and left side of the house, smoke coming out the tops letting outsides know the owners were home. The Giant gates were black, gryphons facing each other on there back legs and wings flared out lookin like they were about to attack each other on the doors of the gates. The Gates swung open like someone knew they approached them, the stranger lead the young couple into the house. It was a blur of activity until finally it was the wife screaming as she pushed, pushed the unborn child into the world and the husband encouraging her while holding her hand. The stranger waited for the child to slide into his arms....and when she finally did.. he understood why he knew he had to help them at the diner. This baby girl... this child... was his fated mate.
