“Say cheese!" The photographer's shutter clicked in rapid bursts. Benjamin crouched beside Lisa, one arm around Jim, the other steadying Holly's waist. Behind them, a towering aquarium glowed blue, casting ripples of color across their pastel smiles. Off to the side, Nathalie lowered the camera, her voice even. “All done." Holly clapped. “They look adorable together, don't they?" Benjamin rose, brushing off his blazer. “Lisa couldn't stop giggling." “Jim kept making fish faces," Holly laughed. Jim tugged her sleeve. “Can we get ice cream?" “Absolutely," she said brightly. “Right, Benjamin?" “Sure." As the trio walked off, Lisa holding Benjamin's hand and Jim clinging to Holly's, Nathalie lingered behind, her hands tightening around the camera strap. She wasn't in a single photo.
