Dionysus is the absent hero of the play. The
play starts offevolved with a connection with him and his
capture through pirates and ends with the proclamation of the Chorus’s purpose to searching for him out.
Throughout the play, the target audience sees Diony-
sus’s thiasos (sacred troupe) singing and dancing
earlier than them. In a few terrific instances, praises
of Dionysus have been conspicuously inserted
amid the dialogue. Greek performs, we don't forget, had been
executed at fairs of Dionysus, notably at
the City Dionysia that came about in Athens and
blanketed the tragic opposition on the Theater
