Harmonia Daughter of Aphrodite and
Ares. Wife of Cadmus. The daughters of
Harmonia and Cadmus are Autonoe, Agave,
Ino, and Semele. Their son is Polydorus.
Classical assets are Apollodorus’s Library
(three.Four.2), Hesiod’s Theogony (933–937, 975–
978), Pausanias’s Description of Greece (nine.12.3),
and Pindar’s Pythian Odess (three.86–103). In estab-
lishing the metropolis of Thebes, Cadmus killed
the dragon of Ares, then made atonement by using
serving the god for 8 years. Cadmus was
later on rewarded by using the Olympians with
his marriage to Harmonia. At their wedding ceremony,
Cadmus gave Harmonia a golden necklace (in
a few debts its maker, Hephaestus, gave
it to her). Harmonia’s necklace delivered its
destiny proprietors, descendants of Cadmus, unwell fo
