Melanie stood quietly beside Adrian's table, her order pad clutched tightly in her hands. "I'm listening, sir," she said politely. Adrian didn't lift his eyes from the documents as he spoke calmly "I'll have butter poached lobsters with saffron risotto and grilled asparagus". He paused for a brief moment. "And a glass of water " She quickly wrote everything down. "Certainly, sir. Would your guests like to order as well?" The two businessmen exchanged a glance before placing their orders. Melanie noted each one carefully. "I'll have everything served shortly" she said smiled politely before excusing herself The moment the private door room closed behind her, she released the breath she had been holding . "Gosh..." she muttered under her breath. "I can't believe someone could be so intimidating and cold. I almost lost it in there." "Melanie " A familiar voice squealed from behind. she turned to see Julie hurrying towards her ,a teasing grin already on her face. "Girl how was it ?" Julie asked excitedly as she linked her arm with Melanie's ."You actually stood there and spoke to Adrian Voss ,the hottest and most eligible bachelor every woman dreams of meeting" . Melanie rolled her eyes "It was just work " Before Julie could reply, a few waitresses walked past them, throwing Melanie envious glances. "Some people are so lucky," one of them muttered. "I would've volunteered to serve him," another whispered. "Instead, the manager chose her." "She'd better not mess it up," a third added with a hint of jealousy. Melanie pretended not to hear them. Julie, however, wasn't about to let it slide. "They're just jealous," she whispered with a grin. "Take a look around." Melanie followed Julie's gaze. Several female employees were stealing glances toward the private dining room, while a few elegantly dressed women dining in the restaurant kept looking at the hall way , clearly hoping for even a glimpse of the Greek God or perhaps a chance to catch his attention . Julie chuckled. "If looks could kill, you'd be long gone by now. Every woman in this restaurant wishes she had your job tonight." Melanie shook her head. "They're welcome to take it." Julie laughed. "You only say that because you don't know who you're dealing with." "What do you mean?" "I've heard he's terrifying. In the business world, they call him ruthless because he never gives second chances. One mistake is enough to ruin a person's career." Melanie instinctively glanced at the closed private room door. Then Julie leaned in closer. "So... tell me everything! Was he as scary as they say? Did he give you that look they warn about? Did he—" "Julie," Melanie interrupted with an amused smile, holding up the order pad. "I have to get his order to the kitchen before this so called scary brute makes me lose my job ." Julie pouted dramatically. "Seriously? You're leaving me hanging?" Melanie laughed. "I promise I'll tell you later." "You'd better!" Julie called after her. "Don't you dare forget a single detail!" Shaking her head with a smile, Melanie made her way toward the kitchen, leaving her gossip-hungry best friend standing there with a disappointed pout. The aroma of freshly prepared dishes filled the air as she pushed through the kitchen doors, unaware that before the night was over, Adrian Voss would notice far more than just the quality of the food she served.
