I had only spent an hour reminiscing with my mom, but it felt like forever. It felt like a huge relief off my shoulders knowing that we were on talking terms again, and I had them back in my life. I had been surrounded by family my entire life, so them not being in my life at all felt like an endless eternity. I had lost everyone in my corner in the matter of twenty-four hours.
