Lucas There were six days left. Six days until the date on my calendar. Six days until the conversation I'd been avoiding for months. Six days until the truth stopped being optional. Not that I was counting. Much. Okay. That was a lie. I was absolutely counting. The reminder sat at the top of my schedule. Quiet. Unassuming. Terrifying. I stared at it for a moment before closing the screen. As if pretending it wasn't there would somehow make it disappear. Unfortunately... That's not how reality worked. A knock sounded. Noah walked in carrying coffee. Again. At this point, I was beginning to suspect he believed caffeine solved everything. To be fair... It solved a surprising number of things. "Morning."
