“Harper?” my uncle asked, confusion etched on his face.
He stared at me in shock, seemingly unable to believe I had asked about my cousin. I had never really met her, only seen some pictures and heard a little about her from my uncle.
“Why are you asking me about Harper?” he pressed.
“She’s a doctor, right?” I inquired.
He nodded. “Yes, she is.”
“She works with autoimmune diseases, doesn’t she?”
“She does. She’s a rheumatologist,” he confirmed.
