Carter's POV
I woke up in an abandoned amusement park, not too far from where the school was. And for a minute or two, I just stayed there confused. Confused as to how I ended up getting here.
Then I remembered. It all came flowing back to me, like a tidal wave crashing against the shores of my consciousness. It felt as if a floodgate had opened up in my mind.
I had been dragged away from the door, and was about to do something reckless, but then... something happened. I was knocked out and somehow I ended up here.
I checked the time on my wrist watch, and it displayed 7:37. Two whole hours had gone past since the time of my a*******n. I knew this because I glanced at the large wall clock mounted on the east side of the room which we were in.
