Chapter 1

Elara pov: I was standing in the middle of the woods. The moonlight touched the ground, but everything around me felt cold and empty. I didn't know why I was here. I had seen this place countless times before. The same trees. The same silver moon. The same woman standing with her back toward me. A woman I always wanted to reach. A woman I always wanted to call... Mom. She was holding the hand of a little girl. Me. My heart ached as I watched the scene that felt both unfamiliar and strangely familiar. The woman knelt down and touched the girl's face. Her eyes were filled with sadness and love. "Elara..." Her voice was soft. My breath stopped. She knew my name. "Come for me when you have your wolf," she whispered. "I will be waiting for you." "No..." I tried to move closer. I wanted to hold her. I wanted to ask why she left me. But my feet wouldn't move. "Mom..." The little girl cried. "Mom, don't go." The woman slowly stood up. She looked back one last time. There were tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry..." Then she walked away. "Mom!" I screamed. "Mom, wait!" But the farther she walked, the weaker her image became. She started fading like mist under the moonlight. "No! Don't leave me again!" I ran after her. But I could never reach her. Never. "Mom!" The second the woman disappeared, my heart shattered. "Mom!" I reached out one last time... But my fingers only touched empty air. Beep... Beep... Beep... The sound pulled me away from the darkness. My eyes slowly opened. For a moment, I didn't know where I was. The familiar ceiling came into view. My room. Not the forest. Not the woman from my dream. I placed a hand over my chest, feeling the strange ache inside me. Again... That dream again. The same woman. The same words. "Come for me when you have your wolf. I will be waiting." I wiped the tears from my cheeks. Why did I keep seeing her? Who was she? And why did my heart hurt every time she walked away? Beep... Beep... Beep... The second alarm rang louder. My eyes widened. "Oh no!" I quickly sat up. I couldn't waste time thinking about dreams. I had college. And before that... I had chores to finish. I rushed out of bed and started getting ready. Because in this house, being late was never forgiven. Especially when it came to making her coffee. I hurried downstairs, taking the steps two at a time. The moment my feet touched the last step, a sharp voice echoed through the house. "Elara!" I winced. Too late. "I-I'm here!" I rushed into the kitchen and found standing with her arms crossed. Her perfectly styled blonde hair and expensive silk robe looked as flawless as ever. Unlike me, who was still trying to wake up. "What took you so long?" she snapped. "Sorry. I overslept." Her eyes narrowed. "Excuses again." I lowered my gaze and walked toward the coffee machine. After years of living in this house, I had learned one thing. Arguing with Sienna never ended well. "You know your father likes his coffee ready before breakfast," she continued. "Yet somehow, you always manage to disappoint people." I bit the inside of my cheek and stayed silent. The words shouldn't have hurt anymore. But they did. They always did. A few minutes later, I placed a fresh cup of coffee in front of her. Sienna took a sip before immediately setting it down. Too hard. The cup rattled against the table. "It's cold." I blinked. I had literally poured it seconds ago. "I'm sorry. I'll make another one." "Of course you will." Her tone dripped with irritation. Before I could turn away, another voice entered the room. "Good morning, Mom." Aveline. My stepsister walked into the kitchen wearing a cute pink dress, her long blonde hair falling perfectly over her shoulders. Sienna's expression instantly softened. The difference was so obvious it almost made me laugh. Almost. "Good morning, sweetheart," Sienna said warmly. "Did you sleep well?" Aveline smiled. "Like a baby." Sienna kissed her forehead before serving her breakfast. No criticism. No complaints. No disappointed looks. Just love. The kind of love I had spent years wishing for. I quietly prepared another cup of coffee. As usual, I was invisible. My father entered a few minutes later. For a brief moment, hope stirred inside me. "Dad, good morning." He looked up from his phone. "Oh. Morning." That was all. No smile. No hug. Nothing. The familiar ache settled in my chest. Sometimes I wondered if he even noticed I was there. "Elara," Sienna suddenly said. "Yes?" "Why don't you sit and have breakfast with us?" I glanced at the clock. "I have class in less than an hour." "And?" "I might be late." She raised an eyebrow. "Then wake up earlier tomorrow. Look at Aveline. She's ready because she wakes up early, unlike you." I clenched my fists beneath the table. I wanted to ask if Aveline had spent the last thirty minutes making coffee, preparing breakfast, and doing chores. I wanted to ask why none of that mattered. But I stayed silent. In front of my father, Sienna always played the role of the caring mother. And he always believed her. No matter how much I did, it was never enough. "Fine," I murmured. Aveline smirked over the rim of her juice glass. I pretended not to notice. A strange feeling settled over me. As if something was about to change. As if the dream I had seen for years was trying to warn me. I didn't know it yet. But before this day ended, my entire world would fall apart. Few minutes Later I found myself running on the road not because my dad didn't have a car but Aveline drop me on half way. It's not new for me just like daily routine. Aveline always make me walk to the college. Most of the people think Aveline is the real Daughter of Alpha not me. Cause The way they behave like a Family and treat me Outsider every one thinks that. I am getting late only 10 more minutes is remained. If I couldn't reach on time then my teacher wouldn't allow me in class. I have to stay out side. I am running as fast as I can then I heard a horn Beeeep beeep I turned my head to see my best friend Aroan Son of the Beta was on his motorbike. "Hop on" He said with a warm smile Without wasting any time I hoped on it. Like Flash in no time we were there in college. " Thanks dear I am so glad I have you by my side." While walking towards the class room I said. " That's what besties are for after all"
