Chapter 9: The Intrusion

1327 Words
Theo POV “I’m going to kill him. I’m going to tear him limb from limb. We can make Anthony our beta, we don’t need him.” “No, Ace. As much as I want to kill him myself, we actually do need him.” “ARGH! Then just let me bite him, a little nibble. Come on, you know you want to.” I push Ace into the back of my mind, shaking away the violent thoughts to attack my beta. To say I’m livid is an understatement. I’m still trembling from the intensity of my kiss with Aella. It was nothing short of perfection. “I know you’re happy to see me, Alpha, but I’m saving myself for my Mate.” Jax chuckles as I look down at the more than noticeable bulge in my jeans. “Shut the f**k up, Jax. You’re lucky you’re my beta. You better hope this is urgent.” As we walk down the stairs to the cellars, the smell of blood infiltrates my nostrils. We got to the bottom of the stairs, and there stands Anthony, coated in blood, none the less with a triumphant smile on his face. I knew Anthony was intense, but damn, this is a bit much even for me. “I apologize for the horrid sight, Alpha. But, they are demons after all. I had to get a little creative with them.” “I see. What information were you able to extract from them, Gamma?” He lifts the head of the one that’s unconscious. “This is Chad. He’s one of the royal warriors working directly under the demon king.” He points to the other man who’s still conscious, sitting silently, staring at all of us, gritting through bloodied teeth. “That one over there is Malachi. He’s the head of the royal warriors. Work’s directly under the demon king. Despite all my tactics, he hasn’t spoken a single word. Pretty loyal mother fucker if I do say so myself. I’m still quite impressed.” “Anyway, Alpha. Chad here, spilled enough information to hopefully satisfy any doubts and answer some of your questions. Your new lady-friend has been living in the demon realm for the last five years with the demon king. According to mister Chad here, she’s his chosen mate, or as he put it, the future mistress of the demon realm. Apparently, the sick bastard already has a wife and a couple of mistresses. I guess this particular girl was something special to him if he's going to these lengths to retrieve her, or he just has an ego bigger than the demon realm itself. The demon king requests her back at once if the human realm does not wish to suffer the consequences. Any one who shields her or gives her asylum shall suffer at his hands.” Rage seethes within me. Who the hell does this guy think he is? Most importantly, why does he assume its ok to claim a she-wolf as a mistress in the demon realm, my she-wolf to be exact? My mind is racing with questions. I've heard rumors of the current demon king, but I have yet to cross paths with him. My father was still king of Alphas when the last meeting for all the rulers of the different supernatural beings was held, therefore I didn't have the displeasure of meeting him. “I can’t help but feel like there’s more to it than that, but you’ve done a great job, Anthony. Thank you, you’re free to go.” Anthony gives me a nod and a smile, and walks up the stairs to go get cleaned up. “Jax, go ahead and put the men back in their cells. We can discuss later what we will do with them.” “Yes, Alpha. You should go finish what you started with your luna. Wink, wink” Without thinking twice, I punch Jax as hard as I can in the arm, taking him by surprise. “Hey! I’m only joking! You could have dislocated my shoulder with a punch like that! Hmph.” He turns around, crossing his arms across his chest, throwing a fit as if he was a little girl. I shake my head and make my way up the stairs to find my little mate. I reach her bedroom door and I’m about to knock when I hear muffled sounds coming from inside. Is she in there with someone? I realize she’s moaning and a raging anger consumes me. I see red. I don’t even stop to think who the hell might be sharing the bed with my mate! I burst through the door looking for the culprit who dares come into my pack house, and of all the available she-wolves in the pack, chose to put his hands on my perfect little mate. I look around, my anger quickly turning into confusion. Suddenly, my eyes land on a petrified Aella, naked from the waist down in bed. By herself. Of course… f**k. “WHAT THE f**k, THEO!” Aella screams as she jumps to her feet, grabbing the sheets off the bed to quickly cover herself. “I know this is your house, but you still could have knocked instead of bursting through the door looking like a crazed dog ready to attack!” “I- I, holy crap, I’m so sorry, Aella. Forgive me! I can explain myself!” Aella disappears into the bathroom, coming back in an oversized t-shirt and panties. My tiny little mate is pushing me towards the door with very little success. It’s actually kind of cute to see this little creature attempt to push an alpha twice her size out the door. I chuckle at my thoughts, realizing Aella had stopped her attempt to get me out the door. If looks could kill, I’d be six feet under already. I back away, putting my hands up in surrender. “Woah there, little one. How about we talk about this?” Aella growls at me as she steps closer, her eyes piercing my soul. I start to feel the aura seeping out of her and I can’t help the goosebumps that litter my body. Her wolf is definitely in there and the power she posses is immense. But how can this be… I’m the king of Alphas. It’s impossible for her aura to be more powerful than mine, regardless of her being of alpha blood or not. “Hey there, lovely people! Did you guys miss me?” I feel Aella’s powerful aura fade as she peaks around me, smiling at the person behind me. Aliyah could not have arrived at a better time. I release the breath I didn’t realize I was holding and turn around to scoop my sister into a bear hug. “Thank you. You're a life-saver. ” I mind link. She looks at me confused, but shrugs me off instead. “Aella, have you decided where you want to go for your big day tomorrow?” Aliyah questions my mate, as I set her back on her feet. “You’re turning 18, right?” She looks at me hesitantly, then back at Aella. “Well, um.. I don’t really know the town all that well, and I don’t remember the last time I celebrated my birthday. I honestly wouldn’t even know what to do.” She puts on a small smile as she looks down at the floor. “It’s ok, we’ll plan everything out for you, little one.” I try to comfort her, but all I get is a deathly glare from her. “Um… what happened while I was gone? You really can’t do anything right when you’re alone, can you?” Aliyah argues in the mind link. And to think today was going so perfectly. Ace, remind me to beat the living s**t of Jax when we see him. Oh, with pleasure, Theo.
