Dante POV
I walk back to Mara’s chambers, slamming my fist against the door. She opens the door, looking up at me with a scowl painted on her face. How could someone so gorgeous make such an ugly face? I storm past her and sit in the chair across from her bed. She stares at me, irritated, and strides over to her bed to take a seat across from me.
“What did the mutt offer you, Dante?” She remarks snidely.
“She didn’t offer me anything, Mara. She’s never even seen me.You and I both know we need to put a stop to Damien’s madness.”
“Please,” she snorts, “ you’re just jealous of your brother. The unimaginable riches and power he’s going to obtain through that wretched girl. Not to mention he married your girlfriend,” she says as she winks at me. “You need to get over it Tae, your brother is and always will be better than you. That girl is the key to my seat on the throne next to Damien.”
I feel the rage burn through my blood as I swiftly make it across the room, pinning Mara against the bed.
“I could take you right now if I wanted and you wouldn’t bat an eye, Mara.” I growl at her. She looks at me consumed with both fear and desire.
She begins to pull at my shirt, fiddling with the buttons to get it off me. I grab her arms and pin them over her head, licking the side of her neck as I do so.
I drag my tongue up to her ear as she moans with pleasure, shivering as I proceed to whisper in her ear. “If you help me get rid of the mutt tonight, I’ll ensure Damien will never find out about our little affair. I’m sure he won’t be too pleased with his wife being romantically involved with his brother.” I say nipping at the corner of her ear.
She pulls back, staring up at me in disbelief, her desire quickly turning to fear. “Y-you wouldn’t dare, he will k-kill us both, Dante!” She stutters in fear.
“Oh but I would, my lovely Mara” I tell her as I caress her cheek. “I’ve already been banished. I certainly don't have anything to lose?” I tease, smiling at her innocently.
Her expression keeps shifting between anger and fear. She's beginning to understand the complexity of the situation, and this brings a warm feeling to my heart. Her suffering has always been something I enjoyed witnessing, and if I was the cause, all the better.
She begins to wiggle beneath me, trying to free herself from my grasp. I just stare at her in amusement, not loosening my grip one bit. I may not be as strong as my brother, Damien, but as a direct descendent of the previous Demon King, I still have the strength of a thousand men combined. A low level demon, such as Mara, could never escape my grasp. She looks up at me with pleading eyes, quickly realizing how serious I truly am. She has a choice, only one of them prolonging her life just a tad longer. She can either betray Damien and help me get rid of the mutt, extending her life expectant until Damien finds out she participated, or I can tell Damien that his wife is a w***e, and she can die instantly. I smile at this thought, and she stares at me, as if she knows she has no other choice.
Reluctantly, she agrees and I exit the the room triumphantly, ready to begin the execution of my plan. I’ll put a stop to Damien’s sinister plans, even if it means being killed in the process. My father went down this path and it got him and my mother killed. I won’t let that happen to my brother as well.
Aella POV
My body trembles with fear as I keep reliving the events that just took place. I don’t know what I did to make the man called Damien angry, but I definitely do not wish to do it again. I have never even seen him or the other man before today; how could I have possibly communicated an escape plan with him?
Aella, we must find a way out of here. You can’t hide under these covers cowering in fear. You are not a coward! You’re anything but.
I try to ignore my conscious, knowing I don’t have the strength nor the will power to go against my captors. I cower under the sheets, trying desperately to fall asleep, when I hear the door suddenly open. I stay in my place ignoring whoever has come to torture me a bit longer.
“Get up, mutt.” I hear Mara’s voice flooding through my ears.
Who the hell is this b***h calling a mutt?
Who am I kidding, my conscious can rebel against my captors all it wants, but I accept my fate and don’t plan to fight back. I stay under the covers hoping she’ll just go away.
I hear an annoyed sigh as she approaches the bed. All of a sudden, the fluorescent lights are blinding my sore eyes, and I realize Mara ripped my sheets away from me.
“Let’s go, you damn mutt. I don’t have time for this.”
I still don’t move a muscle. This angers her further, causing her to grab my by the hair, pulling me out of bed. I scream at the sudden pain of my hair being pulled and Mara rushes to cover my mouth, looking towards the door.
“Damn it, let’s go. We’re going for a walk.”
I’m all types of confused right now, but I obey and I follow her lead. I’ve never wandered outside of my room, so I was very surprised to see the elegance of this place where I was being held. It’s almost like an ancient castle, fit for a king. We walked past a couple door, stopping in front of one as Mara put’s her ear to the door to listen. The loud noises coming from behind the door make me blush bright pink. The creaking of the bed frame and the synchronizing moans of the pair in the room could be heard throughout the halls.
“Bastard.” Mara grumbles to herself, as she grabs my arm to continue down our path.
