I walked back to the bedroom and quickly undressed myself. Craving a relaxing warm shower, I stepped inside the bathroom and turned on the shower. I allowed the soothing warm water to cascade down my naked body and letting all the anxiety drown in.
Exhaustion dragged each of one of us down as we waited anxiously everyday for Dominic to return. I watched Viktor losing his sanity little by little but the man could fight. My heart shattered every time I stared into his empty, vulnerable eyes, knowing I had nothing but words to comfort him. And all those times when he came back home with blood soaked clothes and I helped him wash the dried blood off his body, I could feel the monster waiting to be unleashed.
And now I was glad. Glad that Dominic was back home and safe.
