I felt people holding me down as someone was placing cuffs on my hands. I was thrashing around hoping I could get free. I turned towards Zynrick and it seems like he was too shocked by what he saw. He didn’t even resist.
“Zynrick, snap out of it!” I yelled and kicked him.
He snapped his head towards me and that’s when the situation sunk into his head. “s**t,” He whispered and tried to break free but the men holding him were strong enough to contain now that he doesn’t have his powers.
“I knew you were following us,” I heard Tyrone say as he looked towards our direction.
I stared at Al and it seems like his eyes were hollow. He looked like he had given up on escaping.
“Let us go,” I commanded but Tyrone just laughed.
“Do you think I’d do that when Al’s already with me?” He asked and hugged Al.
I wanted to hit him and push him away from Al but these f*****g men were stopping me.
“But he doesn’t want you,” Zynrick said and it seemed to have triggered something in Tyrone.
Tyrone pulled out a gun and pointed it at Zynrick. “You’re the reason why I can’t be with him,” He said and pulled the trigger.
A shot was fired and I could feel my blood boil when I saw Zynrick’s blood hit the floor. I thrashed and kicked the other person’s knee making him kneel. I turned to the other guy and I blocked his punch and risked striking his neck upwards using my palm heel.
The two men who were holding Zynrick didn’t budge. I charged towards them but when I felt someone grab my arm I was thrown to the ground.
Shit! They called back-up.
I was about to attack when I was injected. I could feel myself getting dizzy and before I knew it I was knocked out.
I woke up and I was in a room. There was nothing there. I was just surrounded by walls. I sat in one corner because my head was pounding.
“Why wouldn’t they fight?” I asked myself as I recall what happened when we encountered Tyrone.
If Zynrick plans to save Al then why didn’t he use his powers? Come to think of it, this wouldn’t happen if he didn’t let Al be captured.
I scoffed and threw my head back, “What do I know about them?” I asked and I could feel my tears falling on my cheek.
“Ellesmiere,” I heard a voice whisper.
That’s my familiar.
I stood up and looked around. She said she’s here so where is she?
“Where are you?” I thought but she didn’t answer.
I guess telepathy doesn’t work.
“Blast the door open,” She commanded which made me furrow my eyebrows.
“I can’t do that,” I said out loud. I still have the cuffs on my hand so there’s no way I can blast the door open. “I have cuffs,” I added.
“There’s a limit to how much the cuffs can contain magic,” She said which gave me hope. She’s been here for years so I can trust her.
“Okay, but how do I break the door?” I asked and stared at the door in front of me.
“Just use as much power as you can. The cuff will self-destruct if it can’t contain the magic anymore,” She instructed to I did as I was told.
I focused all of my mana on my wrists and released as much magic as I can. I can feel my sweat dripping as minutes passed and the cuffs still haven’t self destruct.
“How long is it going to take?” I asked as I panted.
I didn’t know doing this would use much magic.
“Have patience,” She said and I nodded.
I continued what I was doing and after a few more minutes, I was free. The cuffs burst, it was a bit painful and it left a light wound but its fine.
“Where are you?” I asked before I blow up the door.
I don’t know if people are guarding the door against the outside. If there are then they’ll be caught in the blast. I hope there are only two of them. I don’t want to be chased as I look for my familiars.
“I’ll guide you once you’re outside the room,” She said and I nodded.
I created a sword and blasted the door open. I ran out while the guards were distracted by the smoke.
“Run straight,” She said so I did.
I heard the ringing of an alarm as I ran. I turned around and saw that at least four people were chasing me. Their guns didn’t escape my eyes. I looked at my sword and thought that this wouldn’t protect me so I created guns instead.
“Left,” I heard her say and when I turned to my left there really was a hall.
“How do you know where I am?” I asked as I ran.
I heard a shot was fired so I turned around. There’s still a gap between us so I don’t have to shoot yet.
“I have an overview of the place.” She answered as if it was nothing.
“How?” I asked but I just heard her giggle before answering, “I’m your familiar, of course, I’ll have this type of ability,” She said which made me scoff.
“What direction?” I asked because I was approaching a divided hall.
“Right,” She said so I took that path.
I turned around to check if they were gaining on me and when the shots were fired and I was grazed at least more than thrice I created a barrier. I shot back but I missed.
I guess I don’t have a good aim.
“Elle, look out, you’re about to hit the wall,” She said so I focused forwards and turned right since it was the only turning point.
“You’re near,” She said and that’s when I saw a hall full of doors.
What are they hiding here?
“The last door on your left,” She said and I nodded.
I was running as fast as I could but then I felt a shot go straight through my left leg. I turned around and saw that they were fast approaching so I created lances and shot it at them.
“Elle, don’t kill,” I heard my familiar say in a panicked tone.
I was already limping and here she is telling me to not kill.
“Do you want me to die?” I asked as I limp.
I turned around and shot the man on his foot. He fell on his feet and I was relieved. At least now I only have to deal with three people. I shot another but missed it.
I was starting to feel frustrated and was tempted to create lances but I heard her voice again, “Don’t kill anyone. You’re already near,” She said so I shot another and that was enough to graze one of them.
He stopped but the two continued to chase me. “Here,” I heard her say so I opened the door and closed it.
“Call my name,” I wasn’t supposed to know what her name is but when I saw a bow placed on a metal table I suddenly remembered.
“Revert, Ryu Haneul,” I said and that’s when her true form appeared in front of me.
“It’s nice to see you, Elle,” She said and I felt a rush of memories come rushing back.
I was starting to feel dizzy but having all of my memories come back made me tear up.
“I can’t believe I forgot all of these,” I whispered as I felt relief and contentment.
“I know but now isn’t the time to be rejoicing.” She said and I was reminded by the men who were chasing me.
“Right, but where’s-” I was about to ask but she cut me off.
“You can’t say his real name yet. I’m sure you understand why,” She said and gave me a meaningful look.
I sighed and I felt my heart sink when I realized where my other familiar is.
“Let’s go,” I said and charged towards the door.
“Elle,” She said and I nodded.
“I know, I remember, I can’t kill if you’re around because that’ll poison me,” I whispered and she nodded.
“I’m glad you understand,” She said and I opened the door.
I furrowed my eyebrows when I didn’t see anyone.
“This is suspicious,” I whispered and she agreed with me.
We were cautiously walking when we heard a loud blast.
“Every personnel must proceed to the fourth floor. We must seize the progenitor and the scientist Alystair Flynn,” We heard someone say from the intercom.
“Haneul, we need to hurry,” I said and she nodded.
