Elvira I blinked my eye open, to see a very dark view. The darkness that came with the lack of natural light. I blinked into it, once, twice. Still nothing. Just the sound of my shallow breaths and the soft thud of my heartbeat. “Jaxon?” My voice cracked, weak and unsure. No response. I sat up, or tried to. My head swam, the floor beneath me cold and flat. I reached out, hoping to feel a wall, a thread of something tangible. But all I got was air. Emptiness…. I stood, wobbling slightly. My knees buckled, but I steadied myself. “Brielle?” I called, louder now. “Is anyone there?” Still nothing. A pain exploded behind my eyes. I stumbled forward, clutching my temples as images burst behind my eyelids. Jaxon. Smiling, but his eyes… were wrong. His voice, distorted. Was it even him?
