POV: BRIGAIL
The argument that followed was spectacular.
She called him controlling. He called her reckless. She told him she wasn't going to trade one debt for another. He told her that was the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard and he had heard some truly ridiculous things. She told him she needed to do this herself. He said she needed to want to live more than she wanted answers.
"You are going to get yourself killed," he said.
"I'm already dead inside." She was looking at her hands when she said it and didn't see his face change.
