POV: BRIGAIL
Brigail wedged herself between Holly and Terry as Marco Alfonso took his place at the head of the dining room and cleared his throat.
"As most of you know," Marco began, hands clasped, looking thoroughly pleased with himself, "Stan Davis will be stepping down as CEO of the Queen Regent and the Luxor pyramid. Both properties will be absorbed into the Michealson enterprise. Stan has asked me personally to cater his farewell dinner, and I would like to take Fiordilatte's finest with me."
A collective gasp moved through the room. Then excited murmuring. Holly grabbed Brigail's arm.
Brigail's stomach clenched at the mention of his name and she told it to settle down.
