Episode 7: When Bloodlines Collide

Ammar’s Control Slips – The Jealousy Takes Over Tara had expected the rumors to die down. But instead, they had evolved. Now, every glance, every word, every breath between her and Ammar was scrutinized. And Ammar? He wasn’t helping. So when she agreed to go for coffee with Haider after work, she wasn’t surprised when Ammar appeared beside her desk just as she was leaving. "Cancel your plans," he said smoothly. Tara raised a brow. "Excuse me?" Ammar’s gaze flicked to Haider, who stood a few feet away, waiting. "You heard me." Tara let out a humorless chuckle. "And why would I do that?" His jaw tightened. "Because I said so." She scoffed. "Let me make something clear, Ammar. You don’t get to control my life outside this office." A muscle in his jaw twitched. "So you’d rather be with him?" Her heart pounded, but she kept her expression neutral. "What I do is none of your business." His voice lowered, dark and dangerous. "Everything about you is my business, Tara." A silence stretched between them. Then— Haider stepped forward. "Is there a problem here?" Ammar didn’t even spare him a glance. His eyes remained locked on Tara. "Not at all," he murmured. "Tara can do whatever she wants." His words said one thing. But his eyes? They said something else entirely. Tara exhaled sharply before turning on her heel and walking toward Haider. And Ammar? He stood there, watching her walk away. And for the first time in years… He realized just how much he hated the idea of losing her again. --- Maya’s Desperation – A Final Move Maya had tried everything. Subtle manipulations. Office politics. Strategic gossip. And yet, Tara was still standing. Worse, Ammar’s focus was still on her. But Maya wasn’t done yet. So when she spotted Yasmeen Anwar’s number in a contact list—Tara’s mother—she saw an opportunity. She dialed. A few rings later, a gentle but firm voice answered. "Hello?" Maya smiled sweetly. "Mrs. Anwar, this is Maya. I work with Tara at Sadiq Enterprises." A pause. "Oh? Is something wrong?" Maya hesitated, then said, "I just thought you should know… Tara is in a difficult position here. There are… rumors about her and Ammar Sadiq. People are talking." Silence. Then— "Rumors don’t concern me," Yasmeen said calmly. "Tara can handle herself." Maya blinked. That wasn’t the reaction she expected. Before she could say anything else, Yasmeen continued. "If you’re truly concerned, you should speak to my daughter directly. I’m sure she’ll set the record straight." Click. The call ended. Maya clenched her jaw. It hadn’t worked. But she wasn’t done yet. Not even close. --- Ammar’s Weakness – The Past Resurfaces It was past midnight when Tara heard the knock on her apartment door. She hesitated before opening it. Ammar stood there. His tie was loose, his shirt slightly wrinkled—as if he’d spent hours pacing. And his eyes? They were filled with something she didn’t want to name. "Tara," he said quietly. She folded her arms. "What are you doing here, Ammar?" He exhaled sharply. "Tell me why you left that night." Her breath hitched. "Ammar—" "No," he cut her off. "No more avoiding. No more pretending. Just tell me the truth." She swallowed. "You already know." "Do I?" His voice was raw. "Because I thought I did. I thought you left because you wanted to. But now… now I think there was more to it." She turned away. "It doesn’t matter anymore." Ammar stepped closer. "It matters to me." Her throat tightened. She wanted to lie. To tell him none of it mattered. But deep down, she knew— It always had. And it always would.
