THE FULL-SCALE ASSAULT
The forest trembled beneath an unnatural stillness. Even the wind seemed to hesitate, as if sensing the storm about to descend. Wolves moved through the trees with caution, muscles coiled, senses straining, eyes scanning the shadows that clung like wet smoke to every branch, every leaf. The pack had recovered from the last psychological assault, but exhaustion was etched into every fur, every pawstep.
Lykos stood at the center of the clearing, silver aura pulsing faintly at first, then flaring as his senses detected the first subtle disturbances. His jaw tightened, wolf growl low and resonant, echoing through the trees. “They’re coming. All of it. The leader… the shadows… the whispers… every attack we’ve faced so far was merely preparation. Now, it begins in full.”
