Hugs and Kisses

After I succeeded in tackling my sister and her friend, we all decided to go for a swim in the lake where the waterfall was since we were already wet. I quickly changed into my black bathing suit which was a one piece but had three holes, one in the middle where my stomach was and two on each side, it's like a bandage swimwear. After I changed, I waited for the rest of the crew before we headed towards the lake. The kids and the grownups stayed close to the shore while I decided to explore and swim closer to the waterfall. Kade was nowhere to be seen so I suppose he stayed at the tents.

As I swam towards the waterfall a thought popped in my head.

Are there water snakes here?

Snakes are my worst fear. I can't even look at a picture of one without having that panic feeling in my stomach. I guess it all started in fifth grade when I encountered one at school, at first I thought it was a big worm so I poked it with a stick. Before my teacher realized what I was doing, the snake managed to creep up on me while I was trying to call one of my friends over to show them what I found. I got bitten but it wasn’t a poisonous snake.

While I was deep in my thoughts, something grabbed me from under the water and pulled me down as I let out a hopeless scream that was covered by the water.

The first thought that came into my mind was, what if it's a snake?

I opened my eyes in the water and saw a blurry figure. I knew exactly who it was, I pulled out of his grip and swam up gasping for air and coughing.

"Kade bloody Parker, you are a dead man!" I yelled when he bust out laughing.

"That was pretty hilarious!" He said and continued laughing. I rolled my eyes and continued swimming towards the waterfall with him following behind me.

"So where are we going Dora the Explorer?" I decided to ignore him.

I swam under the water across the waterfall to the other side. Once I had my head above the water, I looked around the place. There were rocks on the shore along with some sand. It was like a mini beach but with no plants.

"So how about a kiss..."

"Kade, I told you, it's not gonna happen," I said and rolled my eyes as I turned looking around.

"Just a peck," He said and I shook my head but then an idea popped up in my head.

"Do you want to jump from the top of the waterfall?" I asked. The waterfall wasn't that high so there was nothing to be afraid of, and I’m sure there is a path that leads up there or we can just climb it.

"Not happening," He said quickly and I started smirking.

"Aw, is the little girl afraid of heights?" I asked in a baby voice.

"N-No, it's just that what if we land on rocks?" He asked with a little faint of red creeping up on his cheeks.

"I can assure you there are no rocks down here,"

"What if we injure ourselves?"

"The waterfall isn't that high,"

"But-"

"I'll give you a kiss if you do it," I said and that seemed to silence him. It's not that I like him or anything but I just want to see if he'll actually jump from the waterfall. I looked at him with a small smirk and he seemed so deep in thought.

"Fine, I'll do it for a kiss on the lips, not a peck,"

"Fine, whatever," I said and swam under the waterfall outside. I looked around and saw a small trail that led up, probably to the top of the waterfall.

"We're going to jump from the waterfall," I shouted to my parents before starting to go up the trail. I smirked as I imagined Kade screaming like a baby.

"Nervous?" I asked him as soon as we got to the top.

"N-No, of course not!" He said but I knew he was nervous, in fact, he was scared shitless. I looked down from the top of the waterfall and smiled.

"Would you like to go first?" I asked him and he immediately shook his head.

"Ladies first," He said and gave me a forced smile.

"You're going first," I said and stepped away with a smile.

"Are you sure it's safe? I mean it's pretty high and what if we hit a rock?"

"Fine, I'll go first," I said. I took a deep breath in and jumped. I was screaming in fear, trying to scare Kade and once I hit the water, I stayed under to see if he will jump.

Soon enough I saw a figure in the water surrounded by bubbles. I swam up and gasped for air as I started laughing.

"You scared me, I thought something happened to you so I forced myself to jump," He said. I swear I heard him scream under the water.

"I tricked you into jumping silly," I said and continued laughing until we were near the shore. I realized my mom was looking at me and wiggling her phone in her hands so I walked towards her. She was sitting on a rock in her normal clothes so I suppose she didn't go for a swim.

"I took a video of you guys jumping," She said and played it for me. When I jumped I looked back at Kade who ran his hand through his hair and screamed after me before jumping.

Aw, he actually cares...

"Send it to me," I said and started walking back to the tents. After drying myself, I changed in the tent and decided to read a book since I took one just in case if I got bored while waiting for dinner. When I was looking through my bag, the tent opened and Kade came in.

"So about that kiss..."
