Ayla stared out the window as the light rain pattered against the glass. They had entered the forest that held King Oberon’s palace, but it had yet to come into view since the forest was so dense.
Only Prince Raibyn had been there to see her off, claiming his father was in an important meeting and he wasn’t sure where Prince Nylian was.
When the dark wood and stone palace came into view, she had to admit she had never seen a structure like it. Unlike most other castles, it didn’t have tall towers except for the guard posts at the gates that were made out of simple wood. The edges of the roofs were curved outward, giving the buildings all a sharp look. All of the walkway had covered pergolas over them with weaving vines that went up and down the columns.
