The Marriage Contract: A Marriage for Help

Chapter 2

Natasha woke up with her head pounding, she placed her hand on her head as if to prevent her head from splitting open but that could not explain the pain she felt all over her body. She knew she had drunken beyond her limit.

She heard a voice “drink up, it will calm the hangover”. Without thinking, she grabbed the glass and drank the fluid inside but after drinking it, the taste was awful and bitter with her face scrunched up she didn't pay attention to the other person in the room.

On getting up from the bed to go to the bathroom she fell back and heard a chuckle from the other side of the room, only then did it become clear to her that, there was someone else in the room. As she turned her head to get a view of the person, she was dazed momentarily as the face she saw, was the most beautiful face she had seen, with skin so smooth and eyes like doll and lips pump and red as if they were painted, she doubted if the face was natural or artificially enhanced but then men couldn't be so vain about themselves. She thought to herself

“Have you seen enough?” came the question,

“No, you are so handsome that it makes me want to hide you so others won't see and convert your beauty” came her reply. Even Natasha couldn't understand how she made the statement. ‘Perhaps it's the drink still talking’, she thought.

Nick was left speechless momentarily and laughed also, it was funny to him because if his subordinates were to have heard it, they will be scared as it was the first time a lady had openly confessed to the young master and still expressed her desire to keep him.

“Never knew the young miss of the Sterling Family to be so opened”.

“Pls, with the kind of face you have, I believe women must throw themselves at you”.

“Well, do you want to be among the women then?”.

“No, I want to be the only woman,can you grant me that?”.

“Very well then Miss, with all that have happened I believe there is no need to mince words, but how are you so certain that I am not a serial killer or an assassin sent to kill you”.

“Well, with the aura and your clothes you don't seem like an assassin or a serial killer, besides that's the latest watch of the Black series belonging to the Greene company is what you have on. So I don't think you are an ordinary man, an assassin or a serial killer”. Natasha smiled at him and walked to the bathroom.

Nick was surprise that she even knew about the watch of the black series belonging to his family, seems there was more to Miss Natasha Sterling.

He picked up his phone and placing the phone to his ears, he said “come in with the documents I requested”. Immediately, the door opened and a young man in a suit also walked in and he bowed to Nick and gave him the documents he requested.

Natasha walked out of the bathroom and found a paper bag of a famous brand of female clothing on the bed.

“Get dressed, then we will have breakfast and discuss further”.

She took the paper bag to get dressed in the bathroom. When she came out, she saw the table at the side already filled with food, so she walked there and sat down to eat.

Halfway into her food, she heard Nick's voice“ Natasha Sterling, 25years old, the foster daughter of the Sterling family and the would be chairperson of the Sterling group. One must wonder, what exactly are your qualities that makes the chairman so adamant on making you the chairman over your foster father, who happens to be his son?”.

Natasha rolled her eyes “surely, you must have to see the chairperson and ask him about that”.

Nick smiled taking the glass of water to have a drink, “Very well. Moving to other matters, you are engaged to Lucas Regens of the Group but at this moment, rumor has it that he was seen with your sister”.

“You must like me so much to know much about me, yet I don't know your name”, Natasha smiled while she continued eating.

“Nickolas Greene” came a reply from the man standing behind Nick.

Natasha raised her head with eyes filled shock to stare at the man sitting across her on the table. She Seem scared to move at the moment. She had heard of the name Nickolas Greene of the Greene group, even one had to be living in a rock not to have heard of his name, but one thing keeping her mind working was that rumors had it, that Nickolas was known for being extremely ruthless in his dealings. Anyone who crossed him never had the chance of explaining themselves. He had the nickname “King of Hell” and he hadn't been seen with a woman, yet with the list of women waiting on him, no woman of any family in the city seemed to have caught his fancy. There were also words that he liked men as his trusted surboardinates were all men, yet here she was eating with him as if it was just another day but no one said he has this handsome as there were barely any pictures of him online.

“ Has Miss Sterling not been told that staring can be quite annoying if it too much?”.

Natasha cleared her throat uttering “sorry” and she continued eating.

After eating and the table cleared, a document was placed in front of Natasha. While she picking it up, she heard “I have a proposal for Miss Sterling, I believe you are aware of your fiance’s and your sister's activities coupled with the appointment of you being the chairman of your company, I suppose, you will need a strong person behind you to ensure the smooth transition of your position in the company, so why don't we get married for you to have that access”.

Natasha was shocked for the second time to her that Nickolas Greene of the Greene group talking about marriage to her, besides the Greene group and the Sterling group were like two parallel lines that could not meet. Although they were both wealthy, the difference could be seen clearly because the Greene group was one of the most wealthy families in the city as it controlled the economy lifeline of California, with a deep foundation. While her family was just a small wealthy family which started from her grandfather comparing them together was like an elephant and an ant.

“What's in it for you marrying me Mr Greene?”.

“The family head has been on me to take a wife and I haven't seen anyone and adding our activities of last night makes you the best candidate for the position. Also the Sterling group has a mine that I am interested in, so you being my wife makes it easier for the old man to accept a corporation with me”.

“So do we have to be a real couple or just on paper Mr Greene?”.

“Yes we will be a real couple, you get to be my Mrs Greene legally with your body and everything in between. If you have no objection Miss Sterling then we should fix a date for the wedding”. Nickolas said as if it was a business deal.
