... ROSE POV As I entered the hospital room, my heart ached at the sight of my little Noel lying in the bed, her small body connected to tubes and machines. I forced a smile, trying to hide my worry. "Hey, sweetie! How are you feeling today?" Noel's eyes, sunken from the illness, looked up at me with a mix of bravery and fear. "Mommy, I don't want to have the surgery tomorrow. I'm scared." I took her tiny hand in mine, trying to reassure her. "I know, baby. But the doctors say it's the best way to make you better. You're so strong, Noel. You can get through this." Noel's gaze drifted away, her voice barely above a whisper. "What if something goes wrong, Mommy?" Her blue eyes were covered in fears - those eyes reminds me of someone I never want to be reminded of. I swallowed hard, fighting back tears. "We'll face that together, okay? We'll get through it as a team. And Angel Siniel will be watching over us, guiding the doctors' hands." Noel's eyes flickered with a glimmer of hope. "Really, Mommy?" I nodded, trying to sound convincing. "Really, baby. We'll get through this. And soon, you'll be running around, playing with your toys, and making me proud." Noel's smile, though weak, filled my heart with joy. "I love you, Mommy." "I love you too, Noel. More than anything in this world." As I hugged her tight, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread about the surgery tomorrow. What if something did go wrong? What if... I pushed the thoughts away, focusing on the present moment with my daughter. We'd face tomorrow together, as a team. I arrived the restaurant for my night shift only to be given attitude by my boss and the next he fired me. "Incompetence? How? When? I've been devoted sir". Words couldn't get my work back, I was shattered again. Slowly I'm losing this fight. I'm tired. .... As I walked down the dimly lit road, the cool night air did little to calm my racing thoughts. I couldn't shake off the feeling of defeat, of losing yet another battle in my struggle to make ends meet. The loss of my side hustle job still stung, a harsh reminder of my precarious situation. But then, like a beacon in the darkness, I saw it - a bar, alive with music and laughter. A spark of determination ignited within me. I couldn't lose again. I had to keep fighting. I pushed open the door, the sounds of the bar enveloping me like a warm embrace. I scanned the room, my eyes locking onto the bartender with a sense of purpose. I had to apply for the job. I had to do something. I approached the bar, my heart pounding in my chest. "Excuse me," I said, trying to sound confident. "I'm looking for a job. Are you hiring?" The bartender, a friendly-looking woman with a warm smile, looked me up and down. "Actually, we are. We need someone to start ASAP. Are you experienced?" I hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Yes, I have experience." It wasn't entirely true, but I was willing to learn. The woman nodded, handing me an application. "Great. Fill this out and we'll talk." I took the application, my hands shaking slightly as I filled it out. It wasn't my dream job, but it was something. And right now, something was better than nothing. As I handed the application back, I felt a sense of determination wash over me. I wouldn't lose. I wouldn't give up. I would fight, no matter what it took. ... KIRA'S POV I seethed with anger and humiliation as I reminisce how Rose told me Adrian propose to her. How insignificant! How could he stoop so low? I, Kira, the sophisticated and elegant one, was the only woman worthy of him. My mind raced back to my plan to tarnish Rose's image by proposing a collaboration with Kate, her ex-colleague and Rose's enemy. I knew Kate's hatred for Rose would make her the perfect pawn in my game. But now, Adrian's proposal has thrown a wrench in my plans. I couldn't believe he'd fallen for Rose's naive charm. Our last encounter, where I'd tried to seduce him after getting him drunk, had failed miserably. He'd made it clear he was done with me, but I refused to accept it. One mistake from the past, I thought, could be forgiven. But Adrian's resolve was stronger than I anticipated. And why Rose? She was just a mere PA, a nobody. I was the one who'd been by Adrian's side, supporting him, loving him. But now, he'd chosen this...this...secretary over me. The only reason I hadn't looked for ways to terminate her yet was that she was getting under my skin, and I wanted to savor the satisfaction of destroying her. But Adrian's proposal has changed everything. I'll not relent. I'll make sure Rose pays for stealing him away from me. This is far from over. My informant, a scrawny little man with a perpetual scowl, walked into my living room, his eyes cast downward. I could sense his nervousness, his fear of bringing me bad news. But today, he seemed different, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Well, well, well," I said, my voice dripping with contempt. "Look what we have here. The bearer of bad news. What is it this time? Did Adrian forget to kiss me goodbye?" The informant cleared his throat, his eyes darting around the room before settling on me. "Actually, it's good news for once. Rose has started working at a bar in town. As a bartender." My laughter was immediate, mocking. "How quaint. How...rass. She's really scraping the bottom of the barrel, isn't she?" But then, an idea struck me, a deliciously devious plan. "Send some of your...friends to the bar. I want them to make sure Rose knows what it means to cross me. Rough handle her, make her feel like the cheap, worthless trash she is." I smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "After all, she has no respect for her body. Might as well treat her like one." The informant nodded, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Consider it done." I waved my hand dismissively. "Good. I want to hear all about it. Every detail." And with that, I settled back into my couch, my mind whirling with anticipation. This was going to be fun. Don't ever messes with Kira! .....
