Secrets on the Edge

"Who's Joshua?" Alex asked again, stepping closer. His gaze flickered between the two women, his curiosity deepening. Diana panicked, her throat tightening as she struggled to form words. Rose, however, smirked and tilted her head, silently daring her sister to answer. "Umm… he uhh…" Diana stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. Rose decided to intervene. "Joshua is an actor from one of our favourite childhood movies," she said smoothly, a playful smile lingering on her lips. "You know, back when we were in high school." Alex raised a brow, unconvinced. "And you struggled to say that because…?" His gaze shifted to Diana, waiting for her explanation. Diana exhaled, regaining some composure. "Well, I just found it a little embarrassing, that’s all." Alex seemed to consider her words before shrugging. "No need to be. We all had childhood obsessions," he said, dismissing the topic. "Anyway, I need a shower." As he moved towards the bedroom door, Diana’s eyes widened in panic. "No!" The word escaped her lips before she could stop it, and she instantly clamped a hand over her mouth. Alex turned, eyes narrowing. "Are you alright?" He stepped closer, concern etched on his face. That was when he noticed how damp her skin was. "You’re sweating." From behind Diana, Rose stifled a laugh. "Oh, she’s definitely wet," she murmured with a smirk. Diana shot her a deadly glare before forcing a laugh. "I was doing yoga stretches," she said quickly. "That’s why I’m all sweaty." Alex glanced down at her. "But… you’re not in yoga pants," he pointed out. Diana’s stomach sank as she realised she was still wrapped in nothing but a towel. "I—uh—was about to shower," she said hastily. "So I changed." Alex looked at her for a moment, then nodded. "Alright. I’ll wait for you to finish, then." He reached for the doorknob. "No!" Diana grabbed his wrist, pulling him back. Alex frowned. "What now?" Diana bit her lip, thinking fast. "Honey, I… I need the room to myself. You know how you get when I’m naked around you." She fluttered her lashes, her voice dipping into a teasing whine. "I just don’t have the energy to deal with that right now." Alex looked utterly confused. Silence stretched between them as he processed her words. Behind Diana, Rose let out an amused hum. “Well, if you’re that desperate for a shower, you can use mine,” she said, her smirk deepening as she met Diana’s gaze. Alex and Diana snapped their heads toward her, disbelief flashing in their eyes. Did she just say that? Rose held Diana’s stare, her expression challenging. Go on, say no. I dare you. Before Alex could even react, Diana blurted out, “Okay, okay! That’s not a problem.” Alex frowned, his confusion only growing. What the hell was going on here? "Come on, Alex," Rose purred, pulling him from his thoughts as she wrapped her arms around his. "Let's go take a shower." She turned to her sister with a smirk, winking mischievously. Everything about Rose irked Diana at this moment, but she had no choice. Joshua was still in the bedroom, and she needed Alex distracted if she was going to get him out of the house unnoticed. Diana waited until she heard Rose’s bedroom door shut before rushing into her own room. She found Joshua already dressed. "You have to leave," she said hastily. "Now." Joshua raised an eyebrow. "What about your husband?" "He’s not a problem for now," she replied, tossing him his work bag. Meanwhile, in Rose’s bedroom, an awkward silence lingered between her and Alex. Finally, Alex broke it. "Did you notice something off about Diana?" Rose scoffed as she opened her closet, standing behind the door. "There’s always something off about my sister, Alex." Alex let out a quiet chuckle before Rose continued, her tone laced with curiosity. "So, you said everyone had a crush back then, huh?" "Uh… yeah," Alex replied cautiously. "Did you have one?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. The question caught Alex off guard, but he quickly composed himself. "Well… not really. You know, I’m a guy, okay? As long as she had nice boobs and a perfectly shaped ass, that was good enough for me." "Well, that's… typical," Rose said with a teasing smirk as she stepped out from behind the closet door, wrapped in nothing but a short towel. Alex swallowed hard, his gaze instinctively dropping to the curve of her body before he snapped it back up. Desperate to keep his thoughts in check, he asked, "What about you? What was your crush like?" Rose’s lips curled into a playful smile as she sauntered towards him. "Well," she mused, her tone dripping with suggestion. "He was tall, had broad shoulders…" She placed her hands on his shoulders, her touch light yet deliberate. "Firm arms…" Her fingers trailed down his biceps, caressing them slowly. Alex tensed, his breath catching as she moved even closer. Before he could react, Rose slid onto his lap, straddling him effortlessly. Her sultry eyes locked onto his, and he felt himself weaken under her gaze. His hands, as if guided by an unseen force, found their way to her waist. She leaned in, her lips grazing the shell of his ear. "And his gaze…" she whispered, her breath warm against his skin. "So sharp and piercing, it stirred something deep and passionate in my soul." As she spoke, her lips brushed against his earlobe, sending an involuntary shiver down his spine. Then, just as suddenly, she pulled away, slipping off his lap with a knowing smile. Walking to the mirror, she began gathering her hair into a knot, acting as though nothing had happened. But Alex was still reeling, his eyes following the smooth lines of her body. She caught his reflection in the mirror, noticed the way he was watching her. Smirking to herself, she reached beneath the towel, slowly slid off her panties, and, with an almost theatrical ease, dropped them into the laundry basket. Rose sauntered to the bathroom door, pausing just before stepping inside. She turned to face Alex, her lips curling into a wicked smile. "I’ll be done in a few minutes," she murmured, her voice dripping with mischief. Then, tilting her head slightly, she added, "But if you can’t wait… you can always come inside." The suggestiveness in her tone was unmistakable, and the teasing glint in her eyes only made it worse. Alex let out a sharp breath, as he forced himself to look away. Rose chuckled softly, clearly enjoying his torment, before disappearing into the bathroom, leaving the door slightly open. Alex exhaled sharply, grateful for the temporary reprieve as Rose disappeared into the bathroom. But no matter how hard he tried, the image of her perched on his lap, her sultry whispers teasing his ear, refused to leave his mind. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration, trying to shake off the heat pooling in his chest. Then—crash! The sharp sound of shattering glass jolted him back to reality. His body tensed, instincts kicking in as he strode towards the sitting room. When he arrived, his gaze immediately landed on the broken glass art, now lying in jagged pieces on the floor. But what made his breath hitch was the sight before him—Diana standing stiffly, and in front of her, a man Alex had never seen before. His eyes flicked between them, his confusion quickly giving way to suspicion. "Diana?" he called out, his voice laced with concern.
