Sleep came easily that night.Maybe because I had cried.Maybe because I was exhausted from trying so hard to reach someone who seemed determined to push me away Or maybe because my heart simply couldn't take anymore.
Whatever the reason, I fell asleep in Kael's arms, his chest rising and falling beneath my head while one of the twins slept peacefully in the cradle beside our bed.
