“Does she know Noah? “ another student asked. More students gathered around them, ready to watch the drama about to unfold, some even had their phones up secretly, because if Noah Kingston catches you filming him, you are done for, but too bad for them, Brittany sighted them and stopped them, she even smashed some phones. Maya stared back at him, she stared at the same face from yesterday, the same presence that irritated her more than it should, so he’s Noah? Now her hate doubled. Noah stared down at her, he kept a straight face as if he didn’t know anything about what was happening, and suddenly, he burst out laughing, really hard. “Oh my God! Noah just laughed?” “Don’t be deceived, that laugh is nothing friendly,” Maya rolled her eyes. “We’ll… look who it is, I guess fate has a great sense of humor,” Noah said. “Or a bad taste,” Maya fired back. “She just talked back!” “I hate her already,” “Who the hell does she think she is?” “With her outfit, she looks poor, a scholarship student I guess,” “Scholarship student with this effrontery,” Noah let out a laugh again, lower and more dangerous this time. His eyes flickered to her again, he didn’t look angry, at least not yet. “You don’t seem to learn, do you?” He asked “You don’t seem to quit, do you?” Maya shut back. Gasps “She really talked back” “I hate her guts” “Who does she think she is?” “I can’t wait for Noah to show her who rules the school,” “With her outfit, she looks poor ughhh,” “How dare you talk back at Noah you b***h,” Brittany yelled from behind. Does she always poke her nose into other people’s issues? If that’s it she needs to have a special class that teaches “DO NOT INTERFERE” as their course. Brittany walked in front of Maya, Maya was slightly taller but thanks to her heels, they were the same height. “You lowlife poor scholarship b***h, you are acting all tall and mighty in front of Noah Kingston, get down on your knees and apologize now!” Brittany ordered. Maya burst into laughing, rubbing her stomach as she laughed, then she looked up, no one was laughing and she stopped slowly,” Wait that wasn’t a joke? Whoa, I thought it was one, it must be a speech from a drama you are acting in? Cause you definitely can’t be serious,” Maya said diving into another round of laughter. “Wh…at?” Brittany looked stunned but quickly composed herself. “Get down on your knees b***h!” She yelled signaling her minions who moved closer to Maya with the thought of pulling her down. “You touch my skin, a finger gone, you press my shoulder, three fingers gone, make your others and I’ll deliver with extra bonuses and discounts,” Maya said, staring at her nails, like she wasn’t referring to anyone. The minions stepped back fearfully, and Brittany stared at them with shocking eyes,” Drag her the f**k down,” she yelled but they didn’t move. “Fine I’ll do it myself,” she said stepping closer. “Same menu, higher bonuses,” Maya said still not looking up. “Shut up,” Brittany yelled. “Enough!” Noah said from the back, calmly, no raised voice, but everyone felt the authority in it. “Noah, you don’t have to stress yourself on this low pig, I’ll take care of her, she’s not worth your strength…” “I don’t remember calling on you Brittany,” He said coldly, which did it as she stepped back quietly, feeling quite ashamed. “Sorry,” she mumbled. Maya rolled her eyes “Trash” she uttered quietly. Noah took a slow step closer, Maya stood her ground, hands folded across her chest. “You love talking back so much huh?” He growled slowly only to her hearing. Maya shivered a little but did well in hiding it. His eyes… There was something about those blue yet dark devilish eyes, she just couldn’t point it out. He smirked, he saw through her, he saw the effect he had on her which she was trying so hard to hide. He straightened up, his face going back to the hard one like he didn’t have a smirk on just now, he started at her for a second and walked away like nothing happened, like he wasn’t getting under Maya’s skin just now, like he didn’t have the whole school watching them just now, and yet he did all these things effortlessly. Maya scoffed and was about to walk away when someone pulled her back, she turned and rolled her eyes at the person, Brittany. “Do you just have a habit of pulling people from behind or do you just have a point you wanna prove?” Maya spat. “You just got here and you are already causing a scene,” Brittany said. “Causing a scene? I don’t see how breathing in this school is a scene,” Maya said already getting pissed off. “People like you don’t last,” Brittany said. “People like me?” Maya asked. “Yes, scholarship students, you get in through charity and start feeling like you belong here, and then reality hits, you don’t and you get kicked out,” “Did you memorize that?” Maya asked sarcastically. Some students couldn’t help but snicker lightly. “And by the way I earned my way into this school, can you say the same for yourself?” Maya asked. Brittany flushed from anger but tried masking it by acting tough, she stepped closer to Maya and whispered in her ear, “You don’t belong here,” “Whatever,” Maya said pushing her out of the way. Brittany lost her balance and almost fell if not for her minions who caught her. She pushed their hands away and glared at the students who immediately scurried away. She stared towards the direction Maya had taken, staring daggers as if Maya was still there. “You will regret this,” she mumbled under her breath and stormed off.
