Elliott POV The Black Bear

I was working on some paper work when there's a knock on my office door. Daniel walks in and says "Boss, he's here". By the look of fear on his face it has to be the black bear. I sighed before replying "Show him in then". Daniel hesitates and I know that look. I sighed and asked "What?". "The Black Bear has demanded to see her".

I replied to him by saying "Tell him that before he sees her there's a couple of things that he should and most definitely needs to know about his granddaughter, first". "Can Do, I'll send him in now" Daniel replied. I watched Daniel, leave and think 'This isn't going to go very well'. The Black Bear walks in and I think 'Here it goes, I really hope that The Black Bear doesn't kill me when he finds out'. As soon as he sits down he demands "I want to see her now".

I look at him and say "You will, but, there are a few things you need and should know about her first" I reply. He looks at me and says "What things?". I sighed and say "She has a rare condition that doesn't allow her to sleep properly. This condition also causes night terrors due to trauma. What that trauma is I do not know. However, it's bad enough that she's collapsed in front of me twice. I can't get her to open up about it.

She also won't go to sleep either, not on her own at least. The only way she's slept is the two times that I had to d**g her so she would sleep and when she's so exhausted that even though she doesn't want to she passes out from it or from her being so terrified that she passes out". He looks at me and says "I never intended to send her away but I had to. It was to protect her from her own mother. My father is extremely weak and vulnerable right now and he has one final decision to make. He wants to officially make her my heir for when I step down. I need her back with me because she is the only living family member that I have claimed and want as my heir.

My father wants to see her one last time before he dies. He loves her as much as I do. We always have and always will, no matter what". I look at him in shock, The Black Bear is being patient and kind all just to see her. I look at him and ask "Why is she so terrified when I mention her mother?". He sighed and replied "Because, her mother wasn't my daughter her father is my son and he never wanted this life for himself or her".

I ask him confused " Why would he do that?". He looks at me like he's a proud father and replies "Because, her father told me that he didn't want her to grow up in a world like that. He wanted her to have a good and happy childhood as much as it could be. We very rarely get good things or happiness, with are line of work". I sighed and replied "Okay, I'll have Daniel take you too her ". He looks at me and says "Thank You, Son". He stands up and follows Daniel out of my office.

When he leaves and the door closes behind him I think 'Oh, my poor sweet and innocent angel, why is it you that people want to harm for revenge or personal gain'. No one is allowed to touch or harm what is mine. They'll die before they even get to you. I'll kill them to keep you safe. No matter who it is'.
