I Won't Bow

Mates.

"Mate!"

A male voice growled.

I looked at my two best friends and wanted to run.

My brain couldn't function and my legs didn't move. It felt as if I was stuck in a nightmare. A nightmare where my heart shattered and I couldn't protect myself.

"Mine!"

The male voice said and a man behind Alex and Chris ran toward Jenny.

If I had been thinking clearly and not been in shock from thinking it was Chris or Alex then I would realize that this man running toward Jenny was her mate.

But I didn't think I just stared at my friends in horror while they made faces toward Jenny and her mate.

I wasn't released from my shock until Justin ruffled my hair and stepped in front of my sight.

"Earth to Lulu, anyone there?"

I shook my head.

"Omg. I just had the most horrible vision. I thought Jenny was going to be Luna or Epsilon or both! I was so scared."

He chuckled.

"Well, it seem like she will be epsilon for Moon fury's pack..."

I looked at the couple embracing each other and gagged.

"He's from Moon Fury too?"

Justin nod.

"Yup, seems like Cornelia and Camelia will have Jenny close by. Their beta already had a mate so it was only their alpha and gamma coming here."

I shuddered at the thought of having Jenny as gamma's epsilon. Think about the horrible kids!

Right when I was about to say something about Jenny and her mate Cornelia and Camelia showed up.

"Amber!!!"

I embraced them in a bearhug.

"You guys!!! congrats on finding a mate! He better cherish you!! I'll miss you sooo much!!"

They laughed.

"Well you will still be the pups godmother so you need to come visit alright!!"

"Of course!"

I didn't have any duties as omega so I was free to visit them whenever I didn't have school.

"so... where's the lucky fella?"

They giggled and dragged me to the man they called mate.

The moment I saw him my skin crawled. He wasn't anything I'd imagine a mate would be, at least not their mate.

Cornelia and Camelia was always smiling like the sun and they spread warmth wherever they went. They were just like our Luna but a little goofier.

This man was darkness. That's the first thing that came to mind.

"Alpha Diesel, this is Amber-Louise, our little sister and dear friend."

His eyes searched my body as if he tried to figure out what I was.

"You don't smell much..."

I smiled.

"That's cause I'm not eighteen yet."

When you are born, you are born with a scent, when you get your wolf the scent get stronger but when you turn eighteen your scent will increase in order to find your mate.

Strong wolves will have a stronger sense of smell and a stronger scent just because they're more important to smell.

I don't have a good sense of smell because I am omega.

However if I weren't omega and I had a mate of higher rank they would probably sense my scent before I turn eighteen because then my scent would be stronger and their sense would be stronger, still they wouldn't be allowed to tell me I'm their mate because wolves aren't allowed to do so because you could be wrong or they could lie.

Alpha Diesel probably didn't smell me at all because I'm a weak omega. Alex can sense my scent but that's cause he's a strong alpha. This alpha didn't seem to be as strong.

He stared me down then shrugged.

"You look eighteen."

I met his dark gaze and smiled.

"Thank you. I'm sixteen so it's not strange if I look a little older"

At that he smiled, it wasn't a pleasant smile and it never reached his eyes so I got a little uncomfortable.

"Anyway Alpha Diesel, it was nice meeting you, please cherish Cornelia and Camelia, they are very precious to me and I won't forgive you if you don't take care of them like a proper alpha should"

Cornelia and Camelia held his arms on each side of him and giggled at my words.

He seemed to be curious and inspected me with his eyes as if I hid something.

I smiled and felt Justin's arm under mine.

"Excuse me interrupting Alpha Diesel, but Alpha Alex and Beta Chris is looking for this little wolf."

He nod toward Cornelia and Camelia while dragging me away. I took one last look at my friends and their mate. Something felt off.

Justin escorted me to Alex and Chris whom stared at me as if I had done something wrong.

"You shouldn't talk to that Alpha Amber"

Alex looked a little irritated.

"Sorry, but he's Cornelia and Camelias mate, I have to at least greet him"

Chris looked tense and not at ease.

"I don't like him. He may be my sisters mate but he seem off. I get a bad feeling about him and I wish I could get them to not go with him"

I turned and looked at how happy they were around him and he actually seemed to lighten up a little.

"Maybe, it's just a facade, he might be a marshmallow around them. I'm sure they can melt that icy facade in no time, have a little faith!"

He nod but Alex didn't look convinced.

"Still Amber, I don't want you to talk with the alpha's or beta's here. Everyone isn't so friendly."

I looked around and saw a lot of unmated women staring daggers at me.

"Seems like they aren't the only ones..." I shook my head at how stupid some were to think I, an omega had any chance to be mated with any of my friends. "Anyway, any luck finding someone?"

It was really quiet so I looked back at them but neither seemed to have heard my question.

"Amber..."

I saw the horror in Chris face and noticed the tension between my three friends.

"What?"

Just then Luna Beatrice ran inside looking broken.

Well... to anyone not in our pack she probably looked calm and graceful but if you knew her and met her eyes you'd see they weren't as purple anymore, they looked grey.

"Luna, what's wrong?" I looked between her and my friends, yet no one said anything.

I cursed the fact that I wasn't able to mindlink and I cursed the fact that I had omega instincts so I couldn't feel if anything happened within the pack.

"Is it rogues?!" I looked at them but Luna shook her head.

"Amber, come with me."

She grabbed my hand and I noticed how unnaturally cold it was.

We headed to the alphas office and was met with Alpha Anthony and our Gamma.

"Amber-Louise... it's about your mother."

"Mom?"
