The Winter Court’s great hall shimmered under the light of a hundred crystal lanterns. Snowflakes drifted past the high glass windows, catching on the marble sills before vanishing in the heat of the room. Music swirled between the pillars, wolves in silks and tailored suits weaving through each other in a shifting current of scent and color. Eyes followed me from the moment I stepped onto the marble floor. Some curious. Some respectful. Some openly assessing. Omega Alpha. The title carried here, all the way to the Court’s cold heart. He found me before I had time to have a look around. Tall, sharp lines in a midnight-blue coat, his silver eyes holding the quiet, dangerous weight of someone who didn’t need to shout to be heard. His smile was polite, but there was calculation in it.
