We found a quiet corner near the back of the ferry, tucked away behind some cargo crates and out of sight from the other passengers. My nerves were frayed, my skin hot and prickling with unease. Justin sat beside me, his brow furrowed, as he scanned the area. The hum of the ferry's engine was a low, constant sound beneath the lapping waves, but it did nothing to soothe my anxious mind.
