The Commander raised his gun and fired it into the air. I froze, I felt like a startled deer in the highlights. I didn’t have time to stand there for long though, Amaris roughly grabbed my hand and pulled me behind her as she started running straight for the woods.
I stumbled behind her for a step or two before I snapped out of it and started running. I needed to get it together, the last thing Amaris needed was a bumbling i***t to look after.
