Beautiful Aurora

The guards finally appeared in the ring, just as Alpha Zane's grip loosened in confusion at the female's outburst and I ripped free from his claws, tearing a hole in my shirt. What had taken them so long to respond?! I shook my head and backed up, bumping right into a warm body, a person who smelled of honey and sunflowers. Warm arms encompassed me, but I did not struggle, neither did my wolf, instead, my heart leapt and a blush jumped to my cheeks. I watched in silence as Alpha Zane turned from the guards to me, confusion and anger written all over his face. "She's mine!" He growled again, his eyes shifting from me to the person behind me. He tried darting forward, but he was pulled back by guards as yet another person spoke up. "You have broken the rules, Zane!" An irritated voice boomed, causing the male who was still unconscious on the ground to stir and open his eyes. "It seems you have overstayed your welcome, yet again. You have accosted one of my pack members and interrupted the games." Alpha Harrison appeared from the crowd, a scowl on his face as he nodded to the guards to gather the man from the ground. "You, and your Blood Moon pack, should head back to your territory before I permit Aurora here to follow through with her threat." Alpha Harrison gave a nod to the person holding me. My heart skipped a beat then. Aurora... Alpha Aurora of Blue Moon. 'No this. This has to be some cruel trick,' I thought to myself, 'Is this really happening?!' I shuttered, causing the person holding me to give me a reassuring squeeze. "Mate." I gasped, saying the word aloud on accident, my wolf felt the word, reassured me that this was real. How had I not smelled her earlier? Was it because I had been more worried about my performance than I had thought? "Aurora she is mine! We all know female werewolves don't mate together! I will have her!" Zane howled as he and the man I had taken down were pulled from the room. Confusion rang through me. If she-wolves could not mate, then why was Aurora's hold making my skin hot, making my heart race? Was Zane lying about me being his mate? Or was the connection one-sided due to me being a lesbian? "Belle!" A voice shouted, followed by another, "Belle are you ok?!" My mother and father rushed into the ring, stopping only when they saw Aurora. I spotted Benji behind them, obviously having just retrieved them for me. I mouthed a thank you, wiggling a little to see if Aurora would release her hold on me. At first, she didn't, so I gave one of her arms a reassuring squeeze; I wasn't going anywhere, the squeeze was meant to say. I turned my head to gaze back at her, having to tilt my head a little since she was taller than me. Aurora was the woman with piercing green eyes I had seen earlier, or course. She lifted an eyebrow at me, switching her gaze between my parents and I. As she put the pieces together, she released me, taking that amazingly comforting heat with her. I turned to fully face her, admittedly caught in her beautiful gaze. "I-I.." I stuttered, lost for words. I clamped my mouth shut, angry at myself for the display of weakness, my face flushed hard, but Aurora simply chuckled softly and brushed her hand over my cheek. She was doing this so publicly, I heard my mother gasp behind me. I swiftly turned away, lest she do more, and hurried to my parents. This time, it was my father who opened his arms, my mother had taken a step back; was that shame I saw written across her face? "Pup, are you alright?" My father whispered as I buried my head against his chest, feeling eyes on my back, feeling judgemental looks. I could feel too much. "Alright! The show is over lady wolves and gentleman wolves!" I heard Alpha Harrison announce, his sudden proclamation made my father squeeze me tighter. He knew that I'd been working so hard for this day and now, everything was up in the air. "I say we all move on to the dinning area, for some final refreshments then.." "Alpha Harrison!" I pulled my head away from my father's chest at the voice, turning to look behind me at Aurora. She caught my stare, lust and amusement twinkling in those forest green eyes, those eyes that threatened to pull me in and never let go. She gave me a quick little wink, a wink just for me to see, then she stepped up to Alpha Harrison. "I would claim Belle here, as my one and only choice. Seemed you saved your best hunter for last, what a fine idea that was." Her words rang with truth, but her face told a different story. My pack's pitiful reaction to Zane's interruption told her everything she needed to know; they didn't value me. Harrison locked eyes with Aurora as murmurs erupted amongst the packs. Aurora matched his intensity with her own, her arms crossed before her, looking amused by his show of defiance. Her gaze said she wasn't leaving without me, but his was of defiance, probably because she interrupted him while he was speaking. I saw Harrison's eye twitch, but before he could speak, before eye contact could be broken and one of them humiliated, I spoke up. Goddess knows we didn't need another wounded Alpha to deal with. "I accept." My words came out a growl, my wolf was tired of this attention and so was I. It wasn't allowed, a measly she-wolf speaking up before being spoken to, but I was getting antsy, this was the break I was looking for and it came at the same time as finding my mate. I still wasn't keen on having a mate, worried that Aurora wouldn't want me to be her mate and a hunter/scout, but my wolf was smitten with her.
