Peter Adamson was in a quandary. Though he was determined to carry out his plans for Alice Svenson, he knew he'd have to approach her a*******n from a whole new perspective. If she had indeed called the police after the publicity on TV and in the press, he rightly assumed they'd have her home under surveillance. He briefly considered choosing a new candidate for his affections, but then decided resolutely not to deviate from his choice. After all, he loved her, didn't he, and he'd make her love him too before he was finished with her.
