“This is a waste of time and resources,” Ross was talking with Paul Ferris, who devoted many hours to seeking out doctors in the Merseyside and Greater Manchester areas with the name 'Kyle'.
“I have to agree, sir,” Ferris concurred. “Without a surname, I'm searching blind, and let's face it, we don't know for sure if the killer was using his real name. My opinion, for what it's worth is that he wasn't.”
Ross made a decision.
“Right Paul, pack it up, now. We'll never find him like this. How many Kyle's did you find, incidentally?”
“Not too many, thank God. Sixteen in the Merseyside area, either G.P.s, employees in the NHS in some way, or in private practice, and only fourteen in Greater Manchester, but it would still have been a hell of a job checking them all out.
