Coming Back Home Again

Time passes by but the cold wind stays the same. In one of the peak, Riss is sitting by alone and watches the vast ice land. It has been months that she stayed with Hefrost and Phieas. Both of them love Riss dearly and feel that Riss is akin to their own daughter.

"Here you are." Hefrost sits beside her.

"I'm doing fine. I finally learned to control my power, I can even turned it off completely."

Riss never imagined her leaving this mountain. That statement was like a thunder struck in the mid of the day. With heavy feelings, she finally opens her mouth, "I'm sorry..."

"You should be thanking me, not apologizing."

"I... thanks, Big Bro." Her eyes are sparkling wet. It's a heavy emotion, she is reluctant to go, but she also wants to go home badly and meet her family. If only all of them can live in the same place. Sadly, the condition doesn't allows it.

"You did well." He rubs her hair gently, "Be a good girl and don't forget to visit us when you have the time. We will be lonely if you leave us for too long."

"How long is too long?"

"Well, maybe a decade. We have been living for so long anyway, a few more years will only fly by quickly."

["Uh huh, we will be like them I guess."]

She understands his point completely. Immortality doesn't always grant happiness. You will meet people, but you will lose them in no time. That's why the godlike beings tend to live alone. Having people dying around you is always devastating mentally. So most of them choose to isolate themselves rejecting the world.

"Big bro, don't worry. We will be meeting each other a lot. Now that I think about it, where do big sister actually lives?"

"It's somewhere far from here. She abandoned it though and started living here long ago."

"How did you both met and fell in love?"

"Ahh, that's.." Hefrost blushes, his blood rushes towards his face, "I saved her from god slayers. I don't like remembering those. Maybe later I will tell you, I but still need time for myself."

["Let's better not ask him about it anymore.."]

"Okay then, Big Bro. Hmmmm, where is Big Sis?"

"Are you leaving now?"

"I guess so. Really, so much happened. I just wanted to be normal at first. But things changed. And then I wanted to change things, but it went beyond my control. Everything seems to always out of my reach."

"Yeah, you are right about that. Now then, let's find Big Sis. I can finally go back home again. It's a good thing that this time it didn't take centuries or even millenias."

Both of them go to find Phieas. Their time finding Phieas will be the last minutes for them being together. Every steps are heavy, but just like circumstances change, they have to accept the change and deal with it.

After they both meet Phieas, they hug on each others. Phieas reminds her a lot of things. To be wary of the god slayers, to keep her composure, and to not getting ahead of herself. Hefrost can only watches them both exchanging words. He doesn't know how to speak in such situation and lets out a long sigh.

The couple watch Riss walks away. Phieas has teary eyes and lost herself in Hefrost's embrace, unable to let go of Riss. The moment they spent together was so precious. Even if it only took a little bit of their lifespan, the memories were unforgettable. They lived, they laughed, and joked together. They understood each others and share their ideas or even memories to each others. Sometimes people can get closer just by living together. And without realizing, those around became irreplaceable to them.

["Let me take over. It will be faster if I'm the one doing it."]

"Okay."

Wind rushes in, accompanied by the slab of ice floating under Riss's feet. Rainbow Riss copied their power completely. Those few months gave fruit to both of them. Black learned how to control her power, and Rainbow gained godlike skills from her big bro and big sis. And with a sonicboom she goes towards her home.

["Finally.. finally... I'm coming back home..."]

"Haha, let's go faster then."

["After we arrived, can I take over again? I want to hug Papa so bad."]

"Sure, don't worry. I do miss him but this will be your turn."

Bernidas hugs his wife. He will be going to the border city to check on the progress of the bridge construction. The bridge will be a vital point for Xagan, considering that it will be an entry point for the other race towards their kingdom. Truthfully, the Xagan feel that building the bridge is bothersome. They can fly after all. But after long negotiation, they finally gave in and accepted the deal. The opposing party won't have any interest trading with Xagan if they are not building the bridge.

Just when Bernidas about to leave, Lea stops like a statue with eyes wide open towards his back. She finally points her finger towards behind Bernidas and opens her mouth, "Oh my, Riss! Riss! Is that you!?" She runs towards her when Bernidas is about to turns his back.

"Papa, mama, I'm home..."
