As soon as we reach Calob's room, Melanie rushes over to me, pulling me into a hug. "Derek told us you were in the ER, but everything with you and the baby is alright. What happened, Briar," she asks. She pulls back, and I notice Calob is looking at me with concern. I walk over and take the seat next to his bed. "We are both fine. I had some bleeding this morning, but Naomi said it was normal changes to my cervix. She did an ultrasound and the baby looks perfect."
