The entire drive back to the house I'm barely holding onto my control. That ba**ard was alone with Briar. I know Bruce said she is safe, but what if she wasn't? What if he took her or worse hurt her? I wouldn't survive losing her. She means everything to me. I left the office the minute I hung up with Bruce. As soon as I'm in the driveway, I'm out of the car, rushing inside. I call out to her, but there is no answer. I know she finished her meeting with Calob from the quick text she sent me.
