Chapter 4 A lingering idea to paint the interior walls of his house drove Donovan to the sole hardware store in town on Sunday afternoon. He’d looked around that morning, deciding the place needed a little sprucing up. While he wasn’t an interior designer nor a handyman, he could add colors to the bland walls. If Mom saw this, she’d be horrified. He grinned at the thought of her appalled expression. As an interior decorator, she made her living on organizing and sprucing up people’s homes. He’d grown up in the perfect Feng shui house. Balance with spacing, color, and light. He groaned at the reminder of how sterile the place felt to him. His mother rejoiced in it.
