The shadow legacy

The lost city

Part 5

Chapter 15: The Lost City

Ethan's eyes locked onto mine. "We need to get out of here, Emily."I nodded, still reeling from the darkness's influence.Together, we fled the temple, the shadows closing in behind us.As we emerged into the moonlit night, I spotted a figure watching us from the trees.

"Aunt Lucinda," I whispered.

Ethan's grip on my hand tightened. "Let's go."We ran, the forest blurring around us. Suddenly, the trees parted, revealing a hidden path.

"The Lost City," Ethan breathed.

Legend spoke of a city hidden within Ravenwood Manor's grounds.

A city holding secrets of the ancient ones. We followed the path, the city unfolding before us. Ancient structures gleamed in the moonlight. And at the city's heart, a glowing spire pierced the sky.

"The Key of Light," I whispered.

But Aunt Lucinda's laughter echoed through the city. "You'll never leave this place alive."

Chapter 16:The Curse's Origin

We approached the spire, its glow intensifying.

"Ethan, I feel it," I said, my heart racing. "The Key of Light is here."

As we reached the spire's base, an ancient inscription revealed itself:"Here lies the heart of the curse, where darkness and light entwine.Break the curse, claim the key, And Ravenwood's legacy will shine."

Aunt Lucinda emerged from the shadows.

"You fools," she spat. "You think you can break the curse?"

Ethan stood firm. "We will."

Aunt Lucinda sneered. "The curse was born from Elian Ravenwood's love for his daughter, Elizabeth. He traded darkness for her life."

I gasped. "What happened to Elizabeth?"

Aunt Lucinda's eyes gleamed. "She died, and Elian's grief consumed him. The curse was born, fueled by his rage and sorrow."

The truth hit me like a tidal wave.

"The curse isn't just a curse," I said. "It's a manifestation of Elian's pain."

Ethan's eyes locked onto mine. "We need to find Elizabeth's resting place." Aunt Lucinda's laughter grew maniacal.

"You'll never find it. And even if you do, the curse will never let you break it."
