Yas was stuck on the fence because her t-shirt got caught, Cat and D were laughing their asses off on the soft squishy padding on the ground. Darren and I still wrapped in each other's arms as we stumble into the park, "Were they always so energetic when we went out?" Darren asked leaning closer to my ear and I slightly shivered as I felt his hot breath on my ear and I lightly pushed him away. "Were you always so keen on invading others' personal space?" I ask jokingly. Darren goes into a football player stance and rushes at me and I push on his shoulders as he picks me up by the knees, "Darren I'm too heavy for you to lift me up like that!" "If I'm holding you that clearly means you aren't too heavy for me to carry," Darren responded with a deadpanned look on his face as he placed me back on the ground. I open my mouth to retort and I can't figure out the rights words to respond back. I was always told I was too big to be picked up and carried. I impulsively grab Darren and pull him into a hug and he returns it. "That's cute, get your little boyfriend, but I NEED HELP NOW PLEASE!" Yas yelled over to us as D and Cat rolled on the squishy ground. "Coming!" I immediately let go of Darren and run over to my best friend to help her off the fence. I unhooked where the white t-shirt was stuck and pushed her off the fence causing Cat and D to laugh harder as they heard an 'Oof'. I walk toward the fence's entrance snickering slightly as I walked closer to her to help her stand up, "You wanna laugh at my suffering? You're a horrible friend! How could you?" And I couldn't contain myself and I started laughing at Yas and then after a while, she started smiling then she started laughing with us. We walked to the swings remembering how Darren would always bust into our classes, and Darren explained why he did it, but honestly, all I could really see was his dorkish smile that trapped me the first time he busted into the classroom. The sunlight lands perfectly on Darren's face. His brown skin looking golden in the sun's evenings light, his once acne covered face now clear, he has a little beard of black hair on his chin, both of his ears are pierced with diamond earrings on each side, his dark-colored eyes now looking like a soft brown of a foreign galaxy with the way it was sparkling, and his black high puff ponytail shined. Once more my breath got stuck in my throat as he gave a closed-eyed smile with his teeth exposed and I couldn't help myself and I snapped a couple of photos and slipped my phone back into my boots. I hope some came out good, who am I kidding? They probably look fantastic. "You know since Darren goes to school outside of Boston, we should take a couple of pictures to and the sun is at the golden hour so they'll look fantastic!" Yas excitedly suggested while giving me a side-eye look. The other two girls didn't notice, but nodded as they stood up and they looked for good spots for the picture. "Do we have to take pictures? That's too much work and I'm comfortable on the swings," Darren whined out slightly. That's another thing about Darren, he's lazy and unmotivated at times. "It's kinda my fault," I started and watched as Darren turned his head to acknowledge me, "I kinda have a scrapbook of where I place a picture of everything I do and where I'm at. I like looking back and reminiscing and Yas knows this, she's helping me out y'know?" I was expecting Darren to laugh at me for a little bit, but he didn't. I keep forgetting that Darren's not like other people. "Why don't we have our separate photos right now so I can help? It's a cute idea, I wouldn't do it personally, but I don't mind helping a friend while the others figure themselves out." We look back at the three of them having a mini argument, "By the time they figure out the spot the sun will be gone. Come on." Darren grabbed my hand and looked at me, his eyes shining again. The f**k was I gonna say? No? No. "Of course." Darren got up and set his phone up while we positioned ourselves as the timer started counting down we did all types of poses and silly faces. I looked over his shoulder to see the photos but he turned off his phone. "Darren let me see asshole!" "When you can reach my phone and you know my passcode." I huff and stick my tongue out at him and turning to the other girls. "Fine whatever, I'll take my pictures with the girls," I say preparing to storm over to the girls when I was picked up. "Yea you're slow as hell. Let's go slow ass." Darren called up to me as he fireman carried me over to the girls and the three of them took a picture while snickering. My face turned as red as my sweater and I covered my face feeling the heat radiating off my cheeks. "Put me down! This is embarrassing Darren!" I shout and I feel his laugh reverberate through his body into mine. He puts me down and I punch his shoulder and he laughed harder. "Come on Darren let's take pictures! We wasted enough time!" D shouted at him. "Whose fault was that? Certainly not mine." Darren said placing her carrot top head in a headlock."Quick snap some photos!" Darren shouted as D was trying to fight back but being short and in a headlock, the odds are pretty much stacked against her. No one helped me with Darren, it's your turn to suffer D. I gave two mental fingers toward D. We spent the rest of the night taking pictures and videos of our antics.
