Chapter 6

384 Words
Love is not one sided if the other one falls in love too...... Joan Winset believed in love at first sight. She also presumed it happened to legions...but little did the chit know, her heart too would be vulnerable to love.... Joan thought, as her heart soared, that she too was the victim of love, and had fallen for the man who had helped her. But who was the gentleman in question? She replayed the scene in her mind. She'd run into him, and hope embraced her into its arms, and when she was facing him, she didn't know what had happened. The moment was weird....no she thought, it was mad. A maddening moment. It was crazy, it was Fantasia, it was unbelievable, and yet, with the flick of an eyelid she realised, it was.. It was.. Love. Yes Joan Winset was in love. Weird may it seem. But she was in love.  For the first ever time. He had been intoxicating and charming and beautiful. And he was something else altogether. Something magical, something the God's creation cannot alone explain. She wasn't just attracted, she was wholly absorbed, her every syllable much more mesmerised than the last. She was beguiled beyond dreams, and the recesses of her heart were swollen in the incorrect shade of fuchsia with bulging and unleashed love. She wanted to be consumed by him, she wanted to melt into nothingness. She remarked upon her foolishness, upon falling in love so desperately, in just the heat of a moment. How could she be so attracted to a stranger? Then she remembered Ana's words : Charms's all you need, and love gets vanquished. Joan stumbled back into the ballroom, her heart skidding with unreasonable speed, and then she bumped into her mother. "Joan dear!" Her mother exclaimed "where were you?" "Umm" Joan muttered still reeling in the beauty of her love "I.........um?...yes... I had gone for a stroll... I felt claustrophobic in the ballroom." "But I saw you running-" "Oh yes... I was so excited for the stroll, that I couldn't control my excitement." "And you decided to run?" Her mother squinted dubiously "you looked like a turkey with one leg." Joan rolled her eyes, and went back into the ballroom as her mother said from behind "halt your unladylike mannerisms."
