Hugh drew in a long breath and looked into Joan's eyes "we've reached your home." Joan knew he had not answered her question, but she showed no indication of asking him, which was just fine by his side. Good Lord, her question was an onslaught to his very senses. She bid him adieu, and quietly went inside. Hugh loosened his cravat, and walked to his own home. When he finally reached, he sat down at his desk, shrugging off his coat and cravat, and pouring himself a glass of fine whisky. He slurped and heaved a sigh waiting for the swirl to loosen and dislodge his mind from the captive of contemplation, but to no avail. His father.
