The Vampire Queen

Marian’s POV: I was standing in front of the entrance with some of my private guards when Alexander stepped out of the car. My poor son. “Mother, Your Grace,” he gave me a bow and kissed my hands. His guard kneeled behind him. “Alexander, my Dearest son,” I took my hands and cupped his face. He looked brooding as he should be. I gave him a hint. Marius has determined to kill the human for the sake of my two sons, but I convinced him that Alexander will let go off the girl willingly. I know my son, if he took that human for a trip, he must be in love with her. he stared me with pleading look. I stroked his cheeks, “Come. They have been expecting you now,” I let go off his troubled face and turned around to the study room, “Leave your guard here,” I told him. I don’t want him being questioned by the king, revealing how Alexander truly feels for the human. The double doors opened by the King-guards once we were approaching. I entered and took a seat next to the king. Nicholas stood up as we entered and gave his former seat to his brother. Alexander kissed his father’s hand and took a seat next to him. He gave no glance to his brother. “I want to be quick with no lies and objection, Alexander. Your mother has confirmed that you were with a human that belongs to Nicholas. So, I will only say this once. Leave her to Nicholas,” the king stared sharply to my eldest son. “May I speak freely, Father?” Alexander said after being quiet for a second. “Yes, you may, Alexander,” he replied shortly. “As long as she is confirmed to be his mate by mother, I will have no choice to follow your command,” Alexander was staring at me. “I saw her in your brother’s future, Alexander. She belongs to Nicholas,” I also saw if Alexander didn’t give up on her, it will bring death in the family and chaos for both vampire and human races. “And Nicholas, do you promise that you will not force or hurt her?” he turned to his brother. Nicholas nodded, “I promise, Brother,” he replied firmly. “Alexander, you cannot ask your brother to promise such thing as no human is equal to us,” my husband’s voice was sardonic. “It is fine, Father. She will be my wife, even a consort princess must be respected by our kind, especially because she will bear my heirs,” Nicholas smiled to his father and took a glance to his brother who kept ignoring him. I know Alexander’s heart was shattered in pieces as I could see him destroying his study room after we were all gone tomorrow. “It is settled, then. Now, I can go back. I assumed, we will meet again in The Winter Ball?” my husband asked to his two sons. “Yes, Father,” they answered in unison. “Come, my Queen,” he extended his hand to me. I gave him a smile, “I need to talk with my sons, my King. Mother time,” I replied, but took his hand, squeezing it lightly. He looked at me in glazed and left. We all got up until he left out of the room. Once he left, Alexander turned around to his brother and growled angry. “How dare you did something this low, Nicholas?” he growled and stared to his brother in hatred. “Alexander, it is fate, not your brother’s fault,” I reminded him. “Mother, you did not know what he did to her. Could you be wrong about your premonition?” he asked to me in doleful. “We all know that the fate could change. I could be wrong. In order to prove it wrong, we need to do precaution like we were doing it now to prevent my visions from happening,” I told them. “What did you actually see, Mother?” he asked. The memory of premonition I experienced three days ago flashing in my mind. I was taking blood bath time when it was happened. It was only a partial glimpse for few seconds, but it felt so real, when it was over, I was drowning in blood. The first glimpse happened exactly same just like when he was just an infant, showing Marius, my husband’s heart was in Alexander’s hand, but the difference was the reason, apparently it was triggered by King’s order to terminate a human. I couldn’t tell my husband the detailed as he would kill the human instantly and turned the premonition into reality, so I just told him that she is the mate of Nicholas, to save Alexander from my husband’s wrath. “I cannot, Alexander. But keep in your mind that you did this for the sake of us,” I smiled at him and turned to Nicholas, “Honor your brother wish to take a good care of her, Nicholas. She should be ready by the next full blood moon in spring two years from now. Humans are not like old time when they were still hungry and easy to convince, so you have to make sure not to miss the opportunity in two years, otherwise you have to wait one more year while she kept aging.” Nicholas came over me and kneeled, taking my hand and kissed it, “I will, Mother.” I patted his cheek lightly and got up. “Family comes first, my Dear sons,” and left them. Nicholas’s POV: “Well, I never thought this would be easier, Brother,” I smirked, about to leave. Suddenly my brother slammed and pinned me hard against the wall, his hands wrapping on my neck, hissing, showing his fangs. His eyes were glowing red. He was smart, saying through telepathy. He tightened up his hands as I tried to push his chest. I reminded him. He let me down and I went fast far across him. My neck was hurt as he squeezed it hard, but it was healing. “Man! That was unkind, Brother,” I titled and held my neck. he warned me again. “I said I will not,” I replied him coldly, getting annoyed with his threat. “Just promise me three more other conditions. First, you will not force yourself on her. Second, you will not kill any of her friends or family members. Third, you can’t be jealous on whatever happened before. I know you will try venting your jealousy into anger on her. Not this time, Nicholas,” he stared at me with piercing eyes, he continued. “I promise,” I quickly answered and nodded, although what he mentioned was a bit too much for me. He surely loves her more than I thought. I walked away from him, feeling burdened rather than victorious. “Where are you going to?” he asked with cold eyes. “You should be here until they go back tonight and I will be the company for her. Father has given order before you came,” I told him and closed the door behind, smirking. He should thank me for saving his ass and Kimberly’s. My mother was right, I’ve seen how Kimberly was falling for my surprisingly romantic brother. But she’s not dumb, she could even hate my face after knowing that my brother left her alone here. I shouldn’t take her too lightly, the opposite of what I have told my brother. Alexander’s POV: Before mother left, I managed to have private conversation with her in the garden. She willingly came. I got up after seeing her in her all black lace velvet medieval dress. She always wears black during her trip. Her red hair was half curled up. She is stunning and young, but her green eyes are rather cold. “Alexander, my Son,” she came over and I held her hand to lead to her seat as I took a seat next her. I told her. she responded at me with her piercing green eyes. I asked her. she touched my cheek with one hand Her green eyes got darker, I put my hand over her hand, “The fate has been unfair to me ever, Mother.” I stood up, kissed her hand, and offered her to walk out of the garden in front of me. She couldn’t answer any of my questions as I already knew the answer. Whether her premonition is true or not, the decision has been made. I have lost Kimberly. I have lost my chance long before she was even born. Fifty-six years ago, the day I married Madeline Boyar, but one thing disturbed my mind as why mother has never asked about my relationship with Madeline, did she not like her? øøøøø Soon after their car leaving to the airport, I teleported to my castle, wiping my bloody eyes in my study room. I could feel that Nicholas felt something for her too, that was the main reason I let him to have her because he might be an asshole, but he could change if truly falling for her. I knew it from my own experience. But my heart was aching so much. I want to see Kimberly, telling how I was sorry to find her only to hurt her, but I don’t want to be the cause of her death. I know my father, he wouldn’t fully trust anyone, even his own sons. He will kill Kimberly if I tried to meddle into Nicholas’s plan. It’s ironic how actually it was Nicholas who was meddling into mine at first place yet he won. I pulled out my phone. “Your Highness. I am on my way to the airport. Jan is already there,” Kristof answered. “Find out who were my father sent to tail me, my brother, and Kimberly. But first, follow Nicholas from the safe distance. Send me report each time they’re on the move and send Jan back with the jet to New York after they left Europe, but you just stay there until you have what I need. Take your time and stay unnoticed,” I ordered him. “Yes, Your Highness,” he replied and I hung up. I need to know how many the king’s guards were assigned to follow us so that I could measure my father’s agenda on us for the safety of Kimberly. How is she now? Did she cry? I was regretting of being selfish to believe that I could love her, knowing that I couldn’t be with her. All I did was ruining her life, her human’s life. I would sacrifice my position and even my life if I could, but the more I tried to defy my father, the sooner he will end her life. I knew my father too damnedwell as he killed millions of human lives during the darkness era with no mercy. There was even a rumor I heard when I was a little back then that my father had another brother, but he killed him for the sake of his current position. I couldn’t confirm the rumor because everyone who once openly spoke about it were disappeared. I scrolled into my phone, the only picture I have in my gallery is hers, standing by the pool with her bright blue eyes with the blue ocean as the background. She is so breathtakingly beautiful and pure. I closed my eyes, holding another blood tears from forming. How could I love her so much at the first sight if she wasn’t destined to be mine? The worst thing, she was presumed to be the mate of my brother. How the universe could be this slick. What would happen if she accepted the bond? They will have all of their emotion linked, and they will be powerless to defy the feeling. There will be no alpha and beta in the relationship, they will be equally influenced to each other. If one mate dies or left the mate, they both will suffer from unbearable pain and agony so they would rather choose to die. If a human turned into vampire, he or she can be traced by vampire who turned him or her. But that can’t be applied to the mate, just like my uncle Thomas as Veronika has become his both strength and weakness. What if she objected or neglected the bond? Fate still will lead her to the true mate and the rejected mate will have no chance to have heirs like the rest of us who rejected to engage incest as it was prohibited by the law soon after Adriana were born. The most important thing, my father will kill her and my sacrifice of losing her will be nothing. I threw away the nearest chairs into the walls. I really need a release, so I went down to my dungeon, thinking that I need a fresh blood to divert my attention on Kimberly. I haven’t drink this way for quite some time, but I need to unleash my frustration before starting to work on the blood research, the Tongass’s murder, and the database project. There are no appealing things for vampire except drinking from alive body, engaging s*x, and cruelty. As I don’t do the second and third, I would go sucking blood instead. “Your Highness.” I heard Madeline’s voice when I teleported into the dimmed dungeon. She was wearing black night gown, exiting from the first cell. There was a slight blood stain at the corner of her lips. She still addressed me by title and I let her. I nodded to her and turned my back on her. “Please, ignore me. I was just about to leave. Have a good rest, Your Highness,” she muttered low and left after giving me a light bow. I sighed, deciding to get my usual drink. I need to meet Vasilii, my financial advisor first before going back to Georgia to meet Andrei tomorrow so I teleported back to my study room, checking on some papers Vasilii piled up on my desk until past midnight, when suddenly I felt uncomfortable feeling, so I checked my phone that was on silent mode. I got some messages from Kristof to inform me that they went back to the villa from the club in town. I was holding the urge to visit them, as I couldn’t take it anymore, I teleported back to the dungeon to get the fresh blood. øøøøø The next day, after having meeting with some lords and other influential vampires of the regions finished, I checked my phone to find out that Kristof informed me they just landed in Milan, headed to Nicholas’s property near Villa Reale where he was holding a brief meeting with the lords and barons in his territory, and went to meet a woman in Mandarin Oriental Hotel. After how I felt last night, I have to warn Nicholas again, making sure he would keep his promise so I teleported to a church near the hotel as I’ve been there once a long time ago. I asked him. he answered in annoyed tone. He must be. But I have to make sure that he wouldn’t hurt Kimberly. Even if he has to watch my miserable suffering, so be it. Madeline’s POV: “Vasilii, please tell me,” I asked to my husband’s right hand. He must know that something was happened with my husband because I never saw him so angry destroying things. “It was the werewolf thing, Your Highness. Prince Alexander initiated to build a database in New York City,” he told me, lowering his gaze. My husband is a very cold and reserved, but I could see a glint of resentful in eyes last night. Did I make mistake? But I haven’t seen him quite often to offend him. I’m sure that he forgot he has wife here. I know I’m just someone his father chosen to be wedded for, so that he can be a king later. But sometimes the loneliness I was dealing was unbearable. He seemed careless when I tried to make him jealous by bringing my old guard to his castle. He never touched me ever, so I began to let him to be my fake husband and tried to divert my attention to something else in the dungeon. If he regretted to marry me, then I regretted to give the honor to my family by accepting the proposal of eternal loneliness. I just had a hunch that something really serious happened to him, and it didn’t relate to his job as the ruler, so I will call Christian, my little brother. He was working for Prince Nicholas, but he could probably know something as the younger prince was being so competitive over his brother. I still remember that he tried to seduce me one night after my father accepted their family proposal. It wasn’t like we could reject anyway, but if I knew that his family hate me, I wouldn’t agree with the arrangement at first place.
