Kimberly’s POV:
After meeting with Dylan, I called Glenn to recheck my schedule, as I wasn’t assigned for any surgery until the next morning, I went home straight, with a smile upon my lips. I couldn’t believe that Dylan Knight asked me out, despite the whole unfortunate situation he was dealing with.
Oh, my God.
I already saved his number into my phone contacts, but I have no guts to contact him first. I’m not the one to chase and I don’t know what I was truly feeling whether exciting because Dylan is indeed so handsome in person and filthy rich, or because I simply like his adorable personality, sweet, funny, and direct. His unique brown spot of sectoral heterochromia on his left eye even added more charming look.
He is perfect.
He seems to have perfect family as well. I could see we were attracted to each other, at least physically as it’s way too early to tell if it’s more than that. I knew he was single for half a year, I even googled him briefly soon after getting out of his room, but that didn’t mean he didn’t date as so many articles featured him with some beautiful women in several functions after his relationship fell apart. I just don’t do casual ship, never and won’t ever be, so I’m worry that he will get disappointment after realizing that I’m not available for more than making out. I sighed and parked my car in parallel next to sidewalk.
“Doctor Vanderwood?” I turned my head hearing a male voice calling at me when about taking steps to enter the lobby.
It’s the younger NYPD detective. Tall, brown hair, and cute chin dimple with apparently, beautiful black eyes. His eyes were so black, yet mesmerizing. He was wearing dark grey suits over his white shirt and stripe tie.
“Yes?” I stepped down the stairs.
He sheepishly smiled, probably knowing that I forgot his name.
“I’m Detective Cole?” he reminded me, “Edward Cole. Do you need a hand?” he asked, seeing me bringing handbag, computer sling bag, a big plastic bag contained several gifts from my colleagues, and hugged some flower bouquets.
“Oh, no, I’m good. Thank you. Sorry. How do you know where I live?” I was dumbfounded before reminding myself that he is indeed a cop.
Detective Cole smiled, “Got a minute, Doc?” he asked.
I looked at my watch, “I’m really sorry, but I have an appointment soon,” I told him, “I’m not lying,” I said again, smiling.
“Well, lying to police officer is obstruction of justice, Doc,” he said, staring at the bouquets and me.
I tensed, staring at him, but he smiled widely, so I just realized that he was kidding me. I awkwardly laughed.
“Sorry, bad joke,” he muttered low, almost like regretting.
“What can I do for you, Detective?” I asked him.
He took a glance at the entrance behind me and gazed at me.
“I’ll be just quick. I only want to know whether you probably have specific things to share regarding the accident involving Mr. Knight?” he asked.
“I thought Doctor Walker had made statement and you probably have got the preliminary autopsy reports by now?” I asked him back, suddenly I was feeling anxious.
Could he know that I went to see the bodies?
He stared at me deeply, “So you didn’t find anything weird that you probably forgot to tell?”
Oh, crap. He knew. Someone should tell him.
I tried hard to maintain cool emotion, “Not that I remember, Detective,” I replied.
He smiled, “Okay, that will be all for now, Doc.”
I felt a relief, “Is it?”
“Well, do you have other things to say?” he asked, smiling.
I quickly shook my head. He took something from behind of his jacket, a name card, and placed it into my right palm.
“Please call me if you have any clues, even if you think they are unimportant. Just call me anytime,” he said.
“I will, Detective Cole.”
“Thanks for your time, I guess you should be hurry, preparing the birthday bash, right?” he waved at me, turning to sidewalk to get his car.
I was speechless, watching him leaving.
What was that? Whatever it was, worrying me. But I couldn’t tell him about the non-existent body, right?
I sighed heavily and got inside the apartment building. Soon after opening my door with a little trouble, I put Detective Cole’s name card on the desk, threw my bags and the big paper bag along with bouquets on the loveseat, pulling out my phone since I had to reply some messages. After replying message from my little brother, Alexis, who was still studying abroad in Oxford, a sophomore, majoring engineering, asking him to buy me proper dinner when I have the time to visit him again as previously he kept buying me burger there, I intended to do a quick clean up since I will have my old friends coming over to stay.
Then I noticed also having a text from Daniel, he got his nerve asking me out tonight and told me that he has never met Esther after the incident. I rolled my eyes, not finishing to read his long message and deleted it instantly instead. This reminded me of flowers bouquets I took home, one of them was from him. I took one big white roses bouquet and checked the attached card, it was indeed from him. I discarded the card into trash bin and got vases with water, and put all the flowers in. I rechecked again all cards, gifts and messages since I don’t want to miss to show gratitude.
Well, Daniel is the exception.
When I was mopping my apartment, my father called, saying happy birthday. He seems happier with his new family. He remarried ten years ago with Amanda, only five years older than me and had a ten-year old daughter named Annabella. I met her at least once in a year during Easter. She is cute, inherited blue eyes like me, but her hair is raven like her mother.
I took a quick shower and did my hair end curled using curling iron, putting a subtle make up, and completed it with red lipstick. I took my medium long black satin pleated skirt along with sleeveless cashmere V-neck top, grabbed my nude stiletto, a nude clutch, and a nude coat, as the temperature in October could drop by ten degrees in the evening. I took a pair of diamond earrings to wear before closing the door.
It was 06:00 p.m., I have dinner reservation with Helena, Amber, Carla, and Tony at Daniel, our favorite French restaurant. Helena is a dentist, she was working in Baltimore. Amber is a doctor, still on residency program in Baltimore, I had no idea how she could go driving with Helena to attend our dinner. I knew them both as we were in school of medicine in Baltimore. Helena and Amber would stay over with me at my apartment as they would go back to Baltimore on Sunday afternoon. As for Carla, she was working as an orthodontist in my hospital, we began very close three years ago when she met me to apologize due to her car was accidentally bumped into mine at the parking lot. I used to have after-work hang out with Carla and Glenn, before suddenly Glenn wedded his pregnant girlfriend in March. He couldn’t make it to my birthday dinner as he had to be at home for her pregnant wife. The last one is Tony, he is actually friend of Daniel, but we were getting along together very well as friend, he is a hotshot lawyer in his early thirties, mostly handles corporate cases.
I gave my key to the valet, and held my coat tightly as the cold wind blowing, my nose was probably red like Rudolph the deer. Soon after the door opened, I told about my reservation to friendly reception staff by the door and he attentively took me to Helena, Amber, and Tony. They hugged and one by one kissed me on cheeks, saying happy birthday. Tony was being gentleman to help me open my coat and neatly put it on my seat.
“So sorry I’m late, Folks. How long have you been waiting here?” I felt bad instantly.
“We’re just early, Dear,” Amber laughed, she was wearing sleeveless black jumpsuit with sparkling sequins.
“Tony bought us coffee before coming here,” Helena added and winked to Tony, she was wearing a sheer dress on knee length with serious cleavage and an oversized leather belt.
Tony was very tall and chubby, he is all designer dressed up kind of man, talkative, and great listener. I was wondering if he is a gay, but we have never openly talked about his s****l orientation.
“It’s just coffee, Ladies. As our surgeon host was too busy welcoming Baltimore’s Ladies,” Tony teased me.
I rolled my eyes and nudged his arms. It must be the expensive Luwakcoffeethat Amber was ranting about before. Then someone grabbed me from behind and kissed my cheek. She smelled like jasmine.
“Happy birthday, Kimmy,” it’s Carla’s voice from my back.
She hugged me from behind, I turned to hug her back. She was looking sexy wearing black tube dress on knee length with a black stocking, holding her tweed heavy coat.
“Thank you, Carla,” I smiled, giving her two thumbs on her look.
“You better be. It’s difficult to meet her even when we were working at same hospital, you know,” she pretended sulking and took a seat after giving everyone kiss on cheeks.
Others were looking at me in fake disapproval. I laughed at them. I admitted we both were always busy, but we used to have lunch time together at cafeteria in hospital.
“You all are looking dashed tonight,” I smiled sweetly.
“You too, Beautiful,” Tony smiled, as well as Helena, Amber, and Carla.
“Hey, birthday presents time. It’s from two of us!” Amber shouted and pointed to Helena who handed me over a small box, as well as Tony and Carla.
Tony passed me a bouquet of white roses. I laughed and muttered thank you and gave them light hugs and cheek kisses again. As I was opening their presents, a server came to our round table handing us menu and politely asked whether we were ready to place an order. We were all discuss our selection before placing an order. I requested Scottish Langoustine Salad with Braised Kona Abalone, with a glass of white wine. I offered them a bottle of champagne, but they denied my offer. After we were done enjoying our superb food with chatting and laughing, the two servers came to clear our table, and Carla started talking about Dylan.
“So, I heard you did surgery for Dylan Knight,” Carla looked at me while sipping her red wine.
The other three were ecstatic to hear it.
“The Dylan Knight? Spill out, Kimmy. How’s he? I’m so envy. He is so gorgeous and hot, the delicious hard abs, then sexy chin dimple…” Amber kept blabbering with dreamy eyes.
“I watched in the news he got a car accident with three people dead, I’ve never thought you were in charge of him, Kimmy. It’s huge, like in every single news every hour,” even Tony looked in amusement.
“Well, all I could say that he is all those what magazines said,” I gave them cheeky smile, wondering whether I should tell them that Dylan asked me out, but I would temporarily keep it myself until it is really happened.
My mind was drifting to my last visit to Dylan’s, making me smile. Apparently, I was just like other women, sucker to handsome faces, I sighed.
“But what happened to him was actually horrible, I don’t think no one deserved to experience such thing,” suddenly I blurted out, killing the good mood.
Everyone muttered agreeing. I didn’t tell them about the missing hearts as I knew it wasn’t on the news yet, but Carla surely heard about it. As she didn’t mention it, I just kept quiet. I tried to distract the thought of the glowing red eyes, by checking on my phone. I smiled, seeing message from Dylan, so I quickly replied to him before gaining attention from my friends.
“Who’s that, Kimmy?” Tony asked with a smile.
I pretended not to hear his question by looking at surroundings, when suddenly feeling a sharp steady gaze from the table by the two huge wall paintings, so I was squinting to see him better. Then I stood up in shock. He’s here, without glowing red eyes. He smiled at me and lifted up his wine glass to salute me. I dropped my jaw, unaware that all my friends asked me something several times. Tony nudged my arm and I sat again with pale face.
“What’s happened to your face, Kimmy?” Tony looked at me with worried eyes as I sat down and lowered my head to the table.
He held my suddenly sweaty hands.
“Do you know him, Kimmy? Wow, he’s tall and so hot,” Carla whispered.
Helena and Amber tried to follow at Carla’s eyes.
Amber blew whistle, “He’s gorgeous.”
“Can you see him?” I blurted out.
All my friends looked at me as if I was out of my mind.
“Hell yeah, Kimmy. Look, he was coming,” Amber told me in exciting tone.
Oh, God.
I felt about to pass out, my heart was beating so fast. I didn’t dare to look at him.
“Kimmy!” Carla shouted at me and cleared her throat.
I felt someone towering me so I looked up, meeting to his gaze. He smiled, but his eyes didn’t. He is indeed very tall and lean, pale, but handsome. His blonde hair was neatly styled up and he was wearing a blue navy shirt and black topcoat with blue navy pants. He is gorgeous. I sheepishly smiled at him.
“Yes?” I squeaked.
He curved his pinkish lips and lent his right hand, “Alexander Mircea,” he said in low calm tone.
I anxiously took his hand, it felt cold, probably because I felt sweating.
“Kimberly Vanderwood,” I answered softly.
“And I’m Carla Gonzalez,” suddenly Carla blurted out, “This is Amber Robinson, Helena Morin, and the gentleman over there is Tony Smith,” she added.
I was quietly stunned, while Amber and Helena giggled. Alexander was staring at me, then sneering, I looked away and blushed. Carla gestured the server to give extra chair for the stranger guy.
Alexander.
His name was almost like my brother. Everyone was moving their chair to give a space for Alexander. He sat confidently, with his long legs crossed.
Tony raised his eyebrow to Carla and cleared his throat, “Well, Mr. Mircea, what’s the privilege bringing you to our table?” he sounded a bit rude, but surely this Alexander was acting a bit rude too, as he was a complete stranger intruding our dinner.
A server placed two bottles of champagne in bucket on our table. Tony saw the label and awed, probably the expensive ones. The waitress brought new glasses for each one of us and offered to pour us, we all nodded, except for Tony. They all said thank you to Alexander, he just nodded and smiled. Tony muttered softly that we shouldn’t drink from stranger, but he took the first sip.
“Do you know to each other?” Carla curiously asked me, ignoring Tony.
“No!” I replied too fast and loud, so I blushed, “I mean, we couldn’t possibly meet before,” I said almost whispering.
This Alexander c****d his brow, finally smiling, “And why is that, Kimberly?” sounded like mocking at me.
Well, either I was insane or you’re the walking dead.
“Are you sure, you have never met him before, Kimmy?” Tony cut him at me with a bit annoyed tone, probably because he felt Alexander ignored his question before.
“Alexander, her brother barely named after yours, Alexis,” Amber told, then winked to me. Alexander kept staring at me, being under his gaze, I nervously took my glass, sipping. The taste was actually better.
“Well, the night is too young to stay quiet. We’re going to hit the club after this, Alex. Are you joining?” Carla asked.
Tony hit his forehead once, feeling disbelief to barely all the ladies. Carla rolled her eyes to him and giggled. I glared to Carla.
“I would like to, Miss Gonzalez,” Alexander answered.
Carla raised her finger and shook it, disapproving.
“Oh, yes you may join us, but you called her first name and called us in surname, no, no, no. You have to call us first name too, Alex,” she told.
Tony rolled his eyes.
“If I may, sure do,” Alexander nodded and turned to me, “Are you throwing a birthday dinner, Kimberly? I saw your friends saying happy birthday to you,” he asked.
I stared to him, “You saw us from the beginning?”
“Yes, I did,” he answered calmly, “It’s hard to notice otherwise,” he smiled while sipping his champagne, staring at me with glistening green eyes.
I looked away, feeling my cheek blushing, “Yes, it’s my birthday,” I sheepishly answered.
“Twenty sixth,” Carla added it, “And when was your birthday, Alex?” she asked, letting the waitress to pour some more champagne into her glass.
I think he’s below my age a bit, please don’t make me a cougar.
“Just a little older than Kimberly,” he answered.
Ah, that’s a relief.
øøøøø
Then most of the time I just sat quietly, stealing glances to Alexander next to me, pretended to hear his answers to my girlfriends’ endless questions. But one of his answers was bluntly fishy, he said he was about to leave after meeting with colleagues when spotting me and decided to stalk me. I also found out that he is Canadian, but running a company here too. It was that Canada thing, when Helena a little shouted, surprising us.
“Ah, I knew you. Well, technically I didn’t, but are you The Mircea?” she curiously asked.
Her father was Canadian after all, they emigrated to US when she was fifteen.
“My surname is,” Alexander answered, “Kimberly, I’m sorry to intrude your birthday dinner, I wouldn’t do it if making you this quiet,” he stared at me deeply, as I stared him back.
“No, it’s okay,” I muttered softly without breaking up our gazing contest.
I heard Tony whispered to Helena asking about The Mircea, but I didn’t quite hear their small chat as I started to lose my mind in his gaze. I could feel his gaze was dangerously mischief. I bit my lips, checking the time on my phone and turned away my face to Tony.
“Shall I close the bill now?” I asked him almost whispering.
Tony shrugged his shoulders, sulking. I playfully nudged his shoulder with apologetic smile. I called the waitress who was politely standing behind us the whole time, for a bill. She smiled and told me that it was on the gentleman next to me.
I glared angrily to Alexander, “This is my birthday dinner, you can’t pay for us, Alexander. I can’t allow you,” and took out my wallet from the clutch on my lap.
Alexander touched my hand lightly, stopping me. His hands were still cold.
He stared at me and smiled, “Please allow me, Kimberly. It is the least I can do for the intrusion. I already gave my card before coming to you,” there was a stern menacing tone from his voice, as if I couldn’t say anything to defy him.
“Thank you,” my voice was a little hoarse.
How could I give up this fast?
Alexander took her glass up to make a toast, “Cheers for Kimberly, forever healthy and beautiful,” everyone followed, “To Kimberly!” and clinked our glasses.
I thanked, drank mine, and sweetly smiled.
“Oh, jeez... We should have ordered some more if you’re paying, Alex,” Carla laughed to warm up the quietness after the toast.
I glared at her and she cleared her throat intently.
“It’s okay, Kimberly. They are allowed to say whatever and will surely forget things they said when sober tomorrow,” he stared at me, and to all my friends, one by one.
Odd.
I felt a bit dizzy, I had low tolerance on alcohol, so I closed my eyes and shook my head twice. All my friends like suddenly quiet and stunned, then smiling to Alexander. Even Tony. Alexander signed the check and took his black card from waitress coming from his left side.
“Well, shall we go now?” Carla said to me, grabbing her coat.
She then helped me gathering my bouquet and presents from the empty chair next to her into a big plastic bag.
“Amber wanted the celebrity club, but Tony has made reservation in the neighborhood,” she winked to Amber, who gave her tongue out.
I looked to Alexander, “Are you coming?” I asked him softly, hoping that he would say no because his presence giving me that silly nervous feeling all the time, but he just nodded.
I sighed, “But please let me pay at least for the drinks later, Alexander,” I warned him.
“Surely you can, Kimberly,” he smiled, stood up, and took my coat.
He spread my coat wide, to help me wearing it. I stood up and whispered thank you. Then as I realized that we didn’t tip, I took out some bills from my purse and put them on the table. At least I could do this, although I didn’t know the totaled check.
We shouldn’t miss to tip for the perfect service.
I could feel that Alexander sneered at me. His hands were grazing my arms, his cold and soft left hand went down to my hand, grabbing me tight to follow him. Everyone was following our lead.
“We brought two cars here,” I told Alexander when we were out, waiting for the valet. Alexander took my left hand again since he had to let it go when the doorman gave him the coat before opening the door. I tried to release my hand, but his grip was tight.
How could I not slap or at least say anything to this man for being this aggressive on me?
“Leave all cars here, I’ll have my men to bring them to your address. You all can’t drive,” he simply answered, using the free hand taking out his phone, dialing a fast call and muttered to someone in very low tone. I couldn’t hear him.
How did he know that all cars should be delivered to my address?
I was sure I didn’t hear Tony and Carla mentioned to him about coming here with cabs or that Helena and Amber said something about staying over at my place. I bit my lips in confusion. He put back his phone to his jacket a minute later. Standing together, I realized that he is so tall, comparing to my height, only five feet one inch. Yes, I’m that short. My head even didn’t reach to his shoulder. I closely tightened my coat, the night was indeed windy cold. He squeezed my hand softly.
A handsome man in dark suit came over us and explained to my friends, Carla handed over the plastic bag to him as Helena gave my address instantly while Tony glanced at me first for assurance, I nodded to him.
He couldn’t steal our cars, right?
A minute later a black long limo arrived, Tony made an impressed whistle and pointed to Carla that it was Rolls-Royce. Another tall handsome man came out and opened the door for us, Alexander asked us to get in first. He was sitting in front of me, against the motorized partition behind the driver’s compartment, staying quiet the whole journey, as I was. But I could feel his gaze was locked on me the whole time, causing my cheek burning so red, afraid he could hear my loud heartbeat, but luckily Carla and Amber were being chatty, admiring the mysteriously handsome chauffeur. I tried to avoid Alexander’s gaze, but couldn’t stop thinking about him.
Who is he?
He seems too young to be lavishly rich, he must be coming from very reputable family as Helena mentioned it before. Alexander Mircea, I’ll have it googled later. I tried to cover my awkwardness under Alexander’s gaze, to check the interior.
The limo interior is so classy, unlike the one my father rent for me for the prom which was more like mini disco seating with tacky colorful lights. This is indeed an eight seat, with black soft leather and perfectly applied dark wood veneer, it screams out elegance. Silvery black symbol on each of headrest caught my attention, a carved sword with curved split two point and sharp curved guard with silver grey crown like reversed letter M as the pommel in a shield-like shape. There is no grip if it was really a sword, but it’s neither like a cross. But my main attention was on the snake-shape shadow behind the short sword and two blurry black symbols on its crown and rain guard. Unusual symbol. I looked at my back and touched the symbol, felt it like a velvet, but different.
The mini bar was equipped with some glasses and liquors underneath, with a golden dim light. The roof is in glass as well as behind our headrest and the mini bar, so we could have city lights on our way, although I didn’t realize it when the first time seeing the car. I assumed the tinted glasses could be pitch black from the outside. I don’t think this limo a rental, it could be even a customized one, worth millions. No wonder Tony couldn’t hide gawking all over the car’s interior. I noticed that his mood has suddenly changed, he’s on perky side now.
Awesome, so it means I won’t face any drama from him.
“We’re here,” I muttered to myself in relief when we arrived at the nightclub.
The ride only took for five minutes, but felt like longer ride. I looked around, so many people in lines at the entrance.
“Let’s get wasted and make Susan envy!” I heard Carla and Amber said it together, making the others laugh.
Susan is our best friend from Baltimore, she was working as psychiatrist in Baltimore. I laughed and saw Alexander stared at me with his lips compressed into a thin line.
Was he smiling or pouting?
The door was being opened, we all out and followed Alexander who was given a way to get in the club without lining. My hand was in his tight grip again soon after entering the club.
Alexander’s POV:
I was watching her from few tables apart, sipping the wine alone, while others were with companies. One waitress kept finding excuses to come offering this and that. I could hear her mind exactly, so I knew she just made excuses. I gritted my teeth in annoyance and waved to her to dismiss, as all I want to do is hearing the woman several tables from mine, who seemed to have a celebration.
Woman.
Now I mentioned her as a woman, I sneered to myself. She was having dinner with her four friends. She seemed relax and happy. She was looking radiant and sexy. Her blouse was hanging low, revealing cleavage in elegantly seductive. She kept tucking up her falling strand hair, the glossy light brunette complimented her light sultry skin tone, I sipped my red wine and poured another from a bottle on the table.
It’s her twenty sixth birthday, she has no boyfriend, and she had just got her license and board certification couple months ago. Apparently, it was a big deal for their friends, as they kept praising her achievement. In my long life, I have never taken a medical degree, as I prefer to have multiple degrees on engineering, biomedical sciences, biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and pharmacy before, but I had to stop studying in universities soon after everything started to go online. Unlike my siblings, I actually tried minimum direct contact with humans. I actually don’t despise humans, but ironically my siblings do.
As most human, her mind couldn’t focus on one thing as she kept thinking about something else while talking. Her emotion drastically changed when the topic diverted to Dylan Knight, her patient that was lucky enough to avoid his death yesterday. I was stunned finding out that she even had an upcoming date with the lucky human. I felt rage starting to build up and it went worse when she pulled out her phone, checking out messages and replied one particular message from the lucky human. I glared at her from my seat, I almost squeezed the wine glass. Then a reality hit me pretty hard.
What was I doing here following and spying at her?
I couldn’t even rest myself a minute, trying to erase her taste in my mind, so I gave up and for the first time in my life, I decided to go after this human, at least just to find out what was the actual cause of me having a symptom like meeting my mate. She can’t be my mate, she is just a human and I have given up the idea of waiting for my mate for fifty-six years ago, it is too late to undo. But I have to check it at least.
As if she could sense my glare, she laid her eyes upon mine. At first, she just like randomly saw the surroundings, but when her beautiful blue eyes were on mine, she suddenly stood up, with pale face and kept staring at me. I could hear her heartbeat and she seemed like having trouble to breathe. She remembered me, clearly. I smirked and raised my glass to her, letting her to know that she didn’t imagine and that I’m here alive.
Well, technically I am, just stop aging.
I called the pathetic waitress who kept sending me a glance earlier and decided to give this little Kimberly a visit, testing her. I could hypnotize her and the friends after our encounter later, so I thought. She was sitting with her back turning to opposite direction of mine. I could hear that she was pretending not looking at me, I stood beside her, impatiently waiting for her to look at me. I tried to ignore all dirty thoughts of her friends.
“Yes?”
Finally.
She gave me small smile, her face was no longer pale, but in rosy hue. She was blushing. Her lips were painted in red, with a perfect bright less makeup on her clear complexion, she looked innocently sensual. My lips were twitching to press on hers.
She is indeed breathtakingly beautiful little human.
The fact that she is a human gave me sour feeling.
“Alexander Mircea,” I introduced myself to her, diverting my eyes to her big blue eyes, ignoring others.
She seemed a bit hesitate to take my shake, but she took it anyway. Her hand was warm. Her heart was beating fast. She was sheepishly stared at me.
“Kimberly Vanderwood,” she softly answered.
I tried to give her my smile, but funny thing, she thought I was grinning. Her girlfriends were all surprised but welcoming, the one with tanned skin and black straight long hair introduced herself and others, but the gay friend next her seemed to get annoyed for another reason. He felt that I would be a threat for Daniel.
Who is this Daniel?
When the Hispanic one who introduced herself as Carla Gonzales questioned Kimberly on her behavior, Kimberly shouted a loud no, but I could hear she actually said yes in her mind, thinking it was in a bizarre dream while she was awake, but she was even blushing more.
Strange human with changeable mind, I thought she was afraid of me.
“I mean, we couldn’t possibly meet before”, she said too low for others, but I could still hear her, loud and clear.
“And why is that, Kimberly?” I wanted to tease her a little, but she nervously closed her mouth and looked away.
I was smirking when she like Dom Perignon BrutI ordered for her before. I would order another bottle if she wanted more.
“Are you throwing a birthday dinner, Kimberly? I saw your friends saying happy birthday to you,” I asked, after replaying to Carla on going to the nightclub.
She stared at me in wide-eyed, “You saw us from the beginning?”
“Yes, I did, it’s hard to notice otherwise,” I replied honestly, she stood out in the room and her ignorance to her beauty amazed me.
And frankly I gave up ignoring my curiosity only few hours after the visit and been waiting outside of her apartment building just in time when she was about to leave.
She sheepishly looked away, avoiding my gaze, “Yes, it’s my birthday.”
So, she was being shy of being twenty sixth, but thinking I’m slightly younger than her. On contrary, I’m 561 years older. After that, she was being quiet the whole time, busy with her own mind, while I want to hear something from her pretty mouth. She was only sitting, holding her glass, and taking random glances with almost everyone but me. If I didn’t invade her mind, I would probably think that she was ignoring me. But, no. She actually didn’t. I was smirking on my seat next to her, answering random questions they gave me acting like human until the one with brunette curly hair showed her curiosity about my family name. I decided to hypnotize them now, including Kimberly, to forget about everything they have asked or I said tonight.
After having Kimberly agreed to let me pay the dinner, I dragged her out, calling Andrei to bring the car and get his subordinate to send their cars to Kimberly’s address. I couldn’t let go off Kimberly’s hands, even when Andrei approaching. He tried so hard to cover his distressed mind, seeing me to bring the particular human along with four others and me being gentleman to them, but I was simply careless.
I ordered him through telepathy.
He nodded and closed the blind behind him. I already informed to him earlier, expecting he has made arrangement for the entrance and best table for us. The journey would take around five minutes as the traffic seemed pretty smooth. I could see that Kimberly still had her nervousness on my presence. She seemed like a confident human before I came to her. I was smirking smugly, realizing my effect on her. But still, I prefer her big light blue eyes staring at me rather than to somewhere else exactly like she was doing right now.
Wait a minute.
I thought I did hypnotize her as well, but she still remembered exactly what her friend said about my family name and even intended to look into it. This was unexpectedly interesting, she is just a human, but immune to my hypnosis.
I ordered Andrei after having him opened the door.
I let Kimberly got out first then I grabbed her hand soon after entering the nightclub. So many heartbeats and pulsating bloods in here, but none of them scented as arousing as Kimberly’s.
